| A Pentagon report on Afghanistan says enemy attacks have increased slightly since last year and the Taliban will try to reclaim lost territory as coalition forces withdraw combat troops by the end of 2014. However, coalition and Afghan forces have made measured progress toward strategic goals, according to the report, released Monday. Taliban combat abilities have declined from their peak in 2010, but the militants remain “resilient and determined,” the report states, and they will seek to regain ground and influence by relying on high-profile attacks, intimidation, assassinations and roadside bombs.

Gosh, everyone and their brother saw that one coming. I´m only surprise the Pentagon wasn´t forced to change the conclusion. Must not have checked with Obama before releasing.

Another Obama produced report that is meant to mislead. Note comment that "U.S. and coalition casualties have declined by more than 30 percent from a year ago". The reason for that is simple, US and coalition forces have withdrawn more than 30% of their soldiers from Afghanistan in the past 12 months. The 33,000 US surge troops pulled out in September, as did the 3,000 Canadian troops out of approximately 105,000 total. Brits, Aussies, New Zealnders, Polish and French forces have also been reducing and will be gone early in 2013.

An IRS supervisor working in Washington told congressional investigators that she personally reviewed applications from groups for tax-exempt status, in testimony that appears to show the agency’s scrutiny of conservative groups extended beyond the confines of the office in Cincinnati. Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria.
