| The Secret Service is the target of an investigation into an "immense breach" involving the loss of two backup computer tapes left on a Washington, D.C., Metro train that contained sensitive personal information about all agency employees, contacts and overseas informants, according to multiple law enforcement and congressional sources. The ongoing probe is one of 13 new investigations involving the Secret Service launched by the Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General (DHS-OIG) in recent months. I was mistaken in that I thought the SS was an elite organization immunized from stupidity by discipline and training.
Silly me.
Now that I´ve had my eyes opened, I can see that they´re as dumb as baby turkeys, drowning themselves in their own waterers.

If the material was that sensitive, why wasn´t it personnally taken to the vault by two Secret Service agents? That´s like Coca-Cola entrusting a junior mail clerk to deliver to a bank vault an envelope containing their secret formula. This is beyond stupid.

Those files on computer tape are perfectly safe because nobody´s had a computer drive that reads tape since the 1990s.

I think its more than that poster. Believe it or not, the main duty of the SS is the security of our money supply, not presidential security.
I think this is like what happened with the Generals. Night of the Long Knives continues. First the generals, now the guardians of the security of the money supply. I cannot think of another presidency where all of these embarassments have been made public like this. All the ducks are being lined up. For what exactly, I am not sure of quite yet. Maybe more prep work for setting up his brown shirt army? Remember him talking about that subject in the first campaign?

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate."
