Obama willing to go over fiscal cliff,
according to White House leaks

White House sources are telling Democratic reporters that the president is willing to go over the so-called “fiscal cliff” if GOP leaders don’t agree to his demand for higher tax rates on the wealthy without substantive spending cuts. A political deadlock would mean an automatic tax increase for middle-class and wealthy Americans on January 1, and the opportunity for Obama and the Democrats to push a tax-cutting bill for middle-class voters in 2013, say the White House officials, who leaked the claim to two liberal columnists.Republican lawmakers, including House Speaker John Boehner, say they are opposed

Of course he is. He is not at all opposed to a tax increase on everybody. He just knows that he has to pretend that he doesn´t want to raise taxes on the middle class, when in fact he would indeed like to do that very thing.

Yes, of course he WANTS to go "over the briar patch cliff". That would be manna from heaven for him: MORE MONEY to spend.

As Dean said, that is the best they can get: more money and DEFENSE STRIPPED TO BARE BONES.

Are you all gettin´ it now??!!!

That said, I think the republicans can vote for the "middle class" tax breaks and...well I won´t spill the beans just now.

of course he does...go over that cliff...blame the Republicns and then ask congress to give him complete control of the economy, because the Republicans can not be trusted...win win for the won....
I hope the Republicans run..not walk..away from this..vote present..let the dems own this

BHO´S economic troika headed off the fiscal cliff is his demand for increased taxes, increased spending, increased debt limit ad infinitum. Let them be, then listen for the rumblings for war from the mountains through the prairie to the oceans; WE THE PEOPLE WILL BE ON THE MARCH.

[[[“Obama would then demand in early January that the new Congress immediately pass legislation to reinstate the lower tax rates for the bottom 98 percent,” wrote Corn.]]]

And the GOP will refuse and insist on real tax reform. They will have the leverage for that if we go over the cliff.

That´s the scenario as the Democrat Party sees it. Some issues:

1) Will they extend the Payroll Tax Holiday even though our entitlements are in the red?
2) How long will they extend the Bush rates?
3) Since the Rich will only pay 42 next year, what cuts will they use to offset the 263 billion increased spending for the non-Rich?
4) What will the cut to offset the new spending on tax cuts?

The Democrat rhetoric has been entirely based on the Bush cuts being solely for the wealthy. It will destroy 10 years of strategy to let people know the truth. If they go off the cliff for 42 billion from the rich, trigger a recession, and then go back to extend the cuts for a year, the recession will continue. The cuts for 1 year won´t stop the recession. Then the increased taxes will extend it.

Obama´s priority is to destroy the Republicans so the D´s can take the House in 2014. If they do, they will implement full socialism. Until then the media´s job will be to continue demonizing Republicans 24/7 for any negative news on the planet.

Reply 12 - Posted by: rocket-j-squirrel, 12/3/2012 4:07:49 PM     (No. 9046575)

I guess no one in the media wants to tell us that the ´´fiscal cliff´´ is the product of the Erskin-Bowles commission put together by Zippy and signed into law by Zippy for the expressed purpose to use the ´´crisis´´ as a gun to the head of a hostage Congress.

And all the talk about a second recession looming is preposterous, since we haven´t gotten out of the first one.

Reply 15 - Posted by: Clinger, 12/3/2012 4:26:07 PM     (No. 9046599)

Of course he´s willing to drive us off the cliff. The only place to get enough money to feed the Democrat vote manufacturing machine is the middle class. He stands a chance to get at that and blame Republicans, sweet. And they have the audacity to mention math? We would need roughly a 50% increase on the 53% of the population that pay federal income tax to curb just the growth in national debt let alone pay down the 16 trillion or address the 86 trillion in unfunded liabilities. Tell me again how we can right the ship without affecting the middle class?

Regardless of how any of us feel about wealth distribution the hard fact is we are committed way above what the wealthy have in totality. As we ask for more and more of the mules pulling the waggons, more and more mules will drop and get loaded in the waggons. So when the waggon slows the answer is to whip the mules doing the pulling?

The liberal Democrats always claim that they are out to tax the rich, but end up taxing the middle class.

The rich are rich because they know how to handle and safeguard their money. In that respect the rich have the wherewithal to use the tremendous number of tax loopholes that are available to them and their accountants to minimize their taxes actually paid as much as is legally possible. The liberal Democrats know that because they actually passed a lot of the tax loopholes that are used by the rich.

The liberal Democrats also know that the middle class is huge compared to the 2% of the population that is actually rich, and that if they really want to raise a lot of revenue, that in the end, they must target the middle class as it is with those people that the greatest potential for raising revenue lays.

I believe that we are headed for huge trouble now matter what plan is pushed forward when all this kabuki theater is finished. Obama probably knows this and will do whatever he can to blame the GOP when the inevitable hits the fan. I think this song was written by that famous duo- Cloward and Piven.

Obozo´s Plan:
1) Allow all tax cuts to expire & blame GOP.
2) Reinstate Some of the cuts, look like a hero while leaving some increased taxes on middle class.
3) Advance his Alynski plan against congress from the mocking stage to the demonization stage.... gaining public support to totally ignore congress.

The National Treasury Employees Union is denying claims that the union’s president was in contact with President Obama shortly before Internal Revenue Service employees began targeting conservative groups. In a statement emailed to The Daily Caller, the NTEU explained just what NTEU president Colleen Kelley was doing at the White House on March 31, 2010 — shortly before the IRS Determinations Unit began targeting tea party groups. “On March 31, 2010, NTEU president Colleen M. Kelley attended the White House Forum on Workplace Flexibility at the Old Executive Office Building,” an NTEU spokesperson wrote in an email.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.
