Gallup: Half Of Democrats,
Quarter of Republicans Approve
of Socialism

Breitbart Big Government, by William Bigelow

Original Article

According to a Gallup poll conducted November 18-19, more than half of Democrats (53%) approve of socialism, which isn’t surprising, but almost one-quarter of Republicans (23%) also do. What the poll reveals is that there is a significant difference between the reality of what voters approve and their reactions to terms that represent those realities. For example, Democrats favor the “federal government” over “capitalism” by 20 percentage points, yet they approve of “small business” almost unanimously, at a 94% level. When asked about big business, Democrats approval rate drops all the way to 44%.

Anyone who voted for Obama is a socialist (period)end of debate.

I don´t believe the polls. They can make the outcome anything they want. Hey pollster.....How big do you think the 2nd wave of Tea Party supporters are going to be this time. Hint....much bigger than the first. Listen up Boehner and MCConnell.

Reply 7 - Posted by: yuban, 12/2/2012 9:13:56 AM     (No. 9044241)

I certainly believe at least 23% of Republican leaders believe in Socialism. Not so sure about the GOP as a whole.

I went to the Tea party in 2009 in DC (marvelous experience), but I am done. The younger generations are far too comfortable with socialism. Too many are soft and not even approaching moral in their beliefs.

I´m not spending my money and time trying to change the direction of the country. I ache for my own children and grandchildren who are not like that, but they will have to live in the world that we let slip away through being too busy or apathetic to stop.

Reply 9 - Posted by: CEP, 12/2/2012 9:45:57 AM     (No. 9044294)

Then why don´t these people just leave the country and go to some country that is socialist why try to make the USA socialist?

Reply 10 - Posted by: God of Irony, 12/2/2012 9:48:18 AM     (No. 9044298)

How did the "I don´t believe the polls" tactic work out for you all a few weeks ago?

The bottom line is this why Republicans fail. As I have repeatedly said, we must educate and inform every single day. Conservatives must get into the schools, media, and local, state and national parties. They can not be afraid of the statists.

Reply 11 - Posted by: Carpe Diem, 12/2/2012 10:09:05 AM     (No. 9044319)

#8, all you can do is make sure that your children and grandchildren are deeply rooted in the Word of God. I´m afraid that´s about all that´s left.

Any "republican" who voted for Obama or approves socialism are not Republicans. They are incredibly immature, shallow, superficial, willfully uninformed, unintelligent, ignorant, classist, racist (see everyone in terms of skin color, not content of character), sheep, followers, parasites, are not critical thinkers, anti-capitalistic, anti-constitution, anti-founders, and most likely anti-Christian. In other words, socialists.

Anyone who "approves" of socialism oridentifies as such should be forced to leave the GOP. Myself, I left the GOP during Bush when I realized the party officially was dem-lite and was no longer conservative, fiscally or otherwise.

But we shouldn´t have to leave- we (conservatives) should do what the progressives did to the Democratic Party- take it over. We need to rally again like we did in 2009-it DID make a difference. Now is not the time to resign & fall back!! I will be at any and all rallies in 2013-2014!

And we need to have an advertising campaign teaching Americans the basics of the constitution and how capitalism works and socialism doesn´t.
Use cool kids (& adults) who get it and want to take our country back. Show people like Obama & Hilary& Kerry as old dinosaurs who only want socialism so the stay in power. Let the rallying cry be: For the Founders! (Or for the campaign: I am a founder!). Someone take my idea and run with it- please!

I don´t believe polls but I do believe in the disastrous outcome of our educational system. They don´t teach ´government´ anymore and if they do, it is with a liberal bent. They romanticize socialism and marxism. They don´t teach about the Soviets and China and what they do to you if you dare to ´think or do´ differently. Perhaps a few stripping of rights will set some people straight added taxes at 70%.

Senate rejects border fence

Senators on Tuesday rejected building the 700 miles of double-tier border fencing Congress authorized just seven years ago, with a majority of the Senate saying they didn’t want to delay granting illegal immigrants legal status while the fence was being built. The 54-39 vote to reject the fence shows the core of the immigration deal is holding. The vote broke mostly along party lines, though five Republicans, including Sen. Marco Rubio and the rest of the bill’s authors, voted against the fence, and two Democrats voted for it. Republicans had offered the fence as a way to

[Video] Louisiana State Senator Elbert Guillory (R-Opelousas) explains why he recently switched from the Democrat Party to the Republican Party. He discusses the history of the Republican Party, founded as an Abolitionist Movement in 1854. Guillory talks about how the welfare state is only a mechanism for politicians to control the black community. Hello, my name is Elbert Lee Guillory, and I’m the senator for the twenty-fourth district right here in beautiful Louisiana. Recently I made what many are referring to as a ‘bold decision’ to switch my party affiliation to the Republican Party.

Tough global rules to stop mega-rich firms and individuals from dodging tax were unveiled at the G8 summit today. David Cameron demanded the world’s most powerful countries act to stop countries shifting profits to low-cost tax havens instead of paying they dues where there are earned. The Lough Erne Declaration - signed by the UK, US, Germany, France, Italy, Canada, Japan and Russia - vows to ´fight the scourge of tax evasion´ by ensuring automatic exchange of tax information and changing the rules to stop multinational companies shifting profits across borders to avoid paying their fair share.

A controversial federal agency subject to little congressional oversight has advised its employees to include minimal details about agency events on work calendars that are subject to Freedom of Information Act requests. In a flier circulated to employees and obtained by the government watchdog group Cause of Action, the bureau’s FOIA office instructs employees to “keep your calendar entries brief and general.” The guidance has some observers concerned that the agency is instructing its employees to be more opaque in its daily operations. “Transparency is at the core of our agenda, and it is a key part

On ‘Morning Joe’ this morning, the slightly thinner Gov. Chris Christie R-N.J. dodged 2016 presidential speculation by announcing that he would not wear a Speedo swimsuit on the Fourth of July. “I can announce I’m not wearing the Speedo on the Fourth of July, that’s something I’m happy to announce” Christie joked after MSNBC’s Willie Geist pressed the governor for his political aspirations. Christie has reportedly lost 40 pounds after a successful lap-band surgery earlier this year. Later in the show, Christie explained that during a visit Jersey Shore on Monday, he was approached by several young women

On Wednesday, at two rallies bracketing the Capitol, Tea Party and conservative activists will again take center-stage on two issues dominating the national political dialogue. Reps. Steve King, Michele Bachmann and other members of the Tea Party Caucus will host a nearly day-long dialogue and discussion on immigration reform. On the other side of the Capitol, Tea Party grass roots organizations will hold a rally to "Audit the IRS," in response to the agency´s efforts to intimidate conservative organizations. The immigration event hosted by Rep. King begins at 9am on the East side of the Capitol.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. Five months into his second term, allies and enemies are as confounded as ever about who President Obama really is. Is he the dyed-in-the-wool liberal that his biggest supporters and critics suggest? Or is he a pragmatic, even cynical, politician who cares more for his popularity than taking risks for his ideological goals or living up to his rhetoric? Even in the short period since his reelection, Obama has provided evidence to support conflicting interpretations. His efforts to pass immigration reform, the unsuccessful push for stricter gun controls and tax hikes on high earners buttress the case for Obama-as-ideologue.

Jeb Bush says he’s not worried that his work toward comprehensive immigration reform and his ties to the GOP establishment will alienate conservatives and negatively impact a potential 2016 presidential campaign, referring to critics as “the chirpers.” “If I decide to run for office again, it will be based on what I believe, and it will be based on my record,” the former Florida governor said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody. “And that record was one of solving problems completely from a conservative prospective.” Bush (R) pointed to his conservative

Politico’s Playbook has an excerpt from a new Ryan Lizza piece from the New Yorker that is not yet online. It contains a passage on the back-and-forth between labor and the Chamber that has a quote from a Rubio staffer that is going to raise eyebrows, to say the least: “There are American workers who, for lack of a better term, can’t cut it. There shouldn’t be a presumption that every American worker is a star performer. There are people who just can’t get it, can’t do it, don’t want to do it. And so you can’t obviously discuss that publicly.” Here is the entire context:

Iran is preparing to send 4,000 troops in to Syria to support Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the wake of America´s announcement it will be providing ´military aid´ to the country´s Muslim rebels. President Barack Obama made the pledge earlier this week after the U.S. claimed it found ´conclusive evidence´ Assad´s regime has used chemical weapons against the rebel forces--which includes the most extreme Sunni Islamists--and has called for Britain and France to back the move. While Britain hasn´t made a guarantee either way as yet, more than 350 Royal Marines are being sent to Jordan

During his interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl this morning, Rubio didn’t even seem to understand what that meant. “Are you being played by the Democrats?” asked Karl. “Is Chuck Schumer playing you?” “I don’t — I quite frankly, I don’t even know what that means,” Rubio replied. “Is he using you?” Karl continued. “Is he using you to try to accomplish something that the Democrats want and is not — not a conservative bill?” Rubio responded that immigration reform was a bi-partisan issue that “all Americans
