Collecting Disability Becomes
A Career Choice For Men

Americans are very generous to people with disabilities. Since passage of the Americans With Disabilities Act in 1990, millions of public and private dollars have been spent on curb cuts, bus lifts and special elevators. The idea has been to enable people with disabilities to live and work with the same ease as others, as they make their way forward in life. I feel sure the large majority of Americans are pleased that we are doing this. But there is another federal program for people with disabilities that has had an unhappier effect.

Thats the game where I work. If you get mad at the boss or are about to be fired, put in for a fake disability. The employee doctor does her best catching them, but it is an uphill battle.
Fake PTSD is another big one. They brag about the money they are dragging in. One guy said the military doctor told him "fake it till you make it."

Getting on disability is like winning the lottery for a lot of the recipients. This program is abused as much as the Earned Income Tax credit. Both should be stopped. The parasites and deadbeats have ruined these Democrat freebies.

Trouble is, with the great economy of our Dear Leader(US), for middle aged men in their 50´s, finding them out of a job and with little prospects in sight (how many times I was asked by some snot nose 30 something, "don´t you feel overqualified for this job?"), disability sounds like a decent out.

I even seriously considered it a year ago.

It´s not like as if you make a lot of money on SSI, and there are pretty strict work restrictions. I don´t think many people are turning to it unless they are desperate. Besides, the people I know, had to wait a year after going out on disability before applying for SS disability. And their long-term disability at work doesn´t necessarily last that long.

I used to work in a low income, low education area. It was amazing the number of work-age men walking around with canes. In these areas, if someone is successful in getting some kind of government aid, a whole lot of the others try to get the same thing, often successfully. Obama and the dems are keying in on this phenomenon to develop their permanent underclass of subservient voters.

Combine ssi with food stamps, a rent subsidy, or a government propped up mortgage and it´s a living. As for work restrictions, if so strict, why do ssi rolls burgeon? Barone is right, and it´s confirmed by human nature that once people draw disability for a year or so their career is likely over. Those who don´t work again won´t be counted as unemployed in the obama administration propaganda mInistry jobs reports. That´s a win win for the little marxist.

As I have mentioned before, in the wake of Obama´s reelection, two of the best financial investments to consider are gold and getting on disability.

I have a co-worker whose sister is on SSI due to drug use/addiction & she cleans houses for cash. Now why someone would let an admitted drug addict into their home to clean is another story...

Here´s a thought. The liberal Democrats want to legalize the up to 20 million illegal alien population and give them access to government programs like social security disability. Most illegal aliens now do not have access to such programs unless they falsely claim to be US citizens which some do.

The illegal alien population consists mainly of poor generally uneducated people who currently have little option but to accept hard low paying jobs when they can find them.

Once legalized and eligible for programs like social security disability and with human nature being what it is, you can bet that a huge number of those people will be taking a shot at getting on long term disability.

With most claiming that they can´t speak English during the adjudication process, represented by attorneys who know how to tailor the claims to meet the adjudication standard for approval of the claims, trying to only allow deserving individuals to end up with a pot of disability money will be like trying to untangle a mass of spaghetti.

In my long career as an insurance agent I got to see plenty of disability claims related to workers compensation insurance.

Plenty of fraud happens on the WC disability side. Everything from the guy who just happens to hurt himself before deer season opens. He only wants a few weeks off. The worst ones are the ones claiming some sort of back injury. They are looking for long term disabilty or, at the least, a hefty lump sum settlement.

And naturally, there are hordes of ambulance-chasing attorneys offering their services to these poor ´victims´. They advertise on Atlanta TV 24/7.

It takes at least a year to start collecting disability from SSI. I always thought my husband went overboard buying insurance through his work and then he became ill last July and his short term and then long term disability took care of us and then some until he passed two months later. I can´t imagine trying to apply for benefits with the government while he was in the hospital -- I wouldn´t have been able to pay any bills.

If your company offers additional disability coverage, take it. You never know what tomorrow will bring.

Reflecting on Kelo nine years later

It’s been nine years since the Supreme Court, expressing their decision in the writings of John Paul Stevens, decided to fundamentally change the Takings Clause of the constitution in the case of Kelo v. City of New London. On this auspicious anniversary, a diarist at Redstate decides to take a fresh look at how wonderfully that exercise in freedom worked out for the citizens, and what they received in exchange for their liberties. The Kelo ruling was controversial and precedent-setting because, under eminent domain, the government may seize the property of a private citizen when it’s deemed necessary for public use

MONROEVILLE, Pa.—When the Texas Wesleyan Rams arrived here this month to defend their 10 straight national titles, the 14 players and coaches wore navy blue and gold track suits and carried matching bags. The walkie-talkies worn on the hips of tournament personnel crackled to life: "Texas Wesleyan has entered the building." The opposing teams,?most of whom brought only a handful of players, some in a mishmash of college sweatshirts,?stopped to watch in awe and dread. "We are the New York Yankees of table tennis," said Texas Wesleyan University Coach Jasna Rather. "Everybody hates our guts."

On upcoming trip, Obama

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will leave Tuesday for a four-nation trip to Asia, looking to recharge a focus on the region, an ambitious initiative that’s been sidetracked by domestic politics and international conflicts elsewhere. Yet even as Obama attempts to boost his effort to emphasize U.S. interest in Asia, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s intervention in Ukraine is complicating efforts to reassure Asian nations _ which share the region with an increasingly assertive China - that the U.S. is committed to their security. The administration’s efforts to refocus U.S. policy toward Asia were already being questioned in the region with the

While the media is obsessed with the Koch brothers this campaign season, a billionaire hedge fund manager from San Francisco just bought off the White House to the tune of $100 million in order to delay the Keystone XL pipeline decision. From Fox News: The Obama administration once again has punted on a final decision for the Keystone XL pipeline, announcing ahead of the holiday weekend it is extending a key review period indefinitely — a move that could push off a determination until after the midterm elections. A painting of President Barack Obama by a shock artist with a rape fetish hung in the White House for at least two years. Artist David Choe, known for his graffiti and shock art, rose to minor fame after drawing the murals in Facebook’s first offices. He hosts a Vice show centered on hitchhiking, has shown Anthony Bourdain around Los Angeles on Bourdain’s CNN show, “Parts Unknown,” and one of his paintings graced the walls of the White House from at least 2008-2010. But Choe also has a rape fetish. On the podcast that he co-hosts with porn star Asa Akira, he

One of the Obama administration’s favorite themes is the idea that Republicans have been waging a “war on women.” Though Democrats may overestimate the appeal of this canard, the notion that troglodyte conservatives seek to send American women back to the 19th century has become a form of conventional wisdom, especially in the liberal mainstream media. But though that war is a piece of fakery rooted in the confusion between political liberalism and gender equality, there is little doubt about the reality of another war on women: the one that is being waged by left-wing ideologues against any female Republican

Turning the tables remains the first refuge of liars called on their mendacity. “I was hurt,” Elizabeth Warren relays in her new autobiography, “and I was angry.” The second-year senator speaks of her 2012 political opponent using her claims of Native American ancestry against her during the campaign. Elizabeth Warren could pass for Bull Connor’s sister. She couldn’t pass for Sitting Bull’s second cousin five times removed. So when the 2012 debate descended into genealogists arguing over whether Warren’s great-great-great grandmother was or wasn’t partly Cherokee, the law-professor-turned-candidate winning the question meant that she had already lost it. How would American Indian

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls.
