Sanford cops a problem for
prosecutors in Zimmerman
case, experts say

Orlando Sentinel, by Jeff Weiner and Rene Stutzman

It was a strange development in a case that has seen more than its share: Chris Serino, the lead Sanford police investigator in the Trayvon Martin shooting, hired famed Casey Anthony defense attorney Jose Baez to represent him at his upcoming deposition in the case. It´s unclear what prompted Serino to hire a private attorney — eschewing available representation by the city of Sanford, his employer. But one issue likely to come up is his double-talk on whether there was enough evidence to support George Zimmerman´s arrest as controversy surrounding the case spiraled out of control last spring.

We will again hear Obama run his mouth off about this case before all is said and done.

The case is such a political and racial cesspool that anyone involved would do well to have a lawyer. Facts don´t seem likely to mean much in court.

Like others I only know what the media says. Santa may know who has been good or bad.

The only reason Zimmerman got arrested is because Obama was president.
Zimmerman will probably get convicted because Obama got back in office.
Even if he wins in the state court, Obama will see that he gets federal charges.
Welcome to the "new" USA

During his interview with a female witness the night of the shooting, Serino responded to her concern about having heard a man call for help before the shooting. He calmed her fears by telling her that "the man who was shot was not the man who cried for help". That is in the witness statement in the court papers.

#3, Bush1 did the same thing to the officers in the Rodney King case. The reason the detective got his own attorney is so he won´t be forced to follow the strategy of the department´s lawyers, which will be to defend the department, not the officers.

The London Terror Attack Was
More Than ´Unforgivable´

How many ignored warnings does it take? That is one question that should hang over Britain after the horror of the daytime murder of a British soldier on the streets of south London. On Wednesday afternoon, Drummer Lee Rigby was killed in Woolwich by two men wielding large knives and shouting "Allahu akbar"—God is great. Islamists have been saying for years they would do this. They have planned to do it. And now they have done it. The attack itself is not surprising. What is surprising is that British society remains so utterly unwilling not just to deal

Conservatives Became Targets in 2008

The White House insists President Obama is "outraged" by the "inappropriate" targeting and harassment of conservative groups. If true, it´s a remarkable turnaround for a man who helped pioneer those tactics. On Aug. 21, 2008, the conservative American Issues Project ran an ad highlighting ties between candidate Obama and Bill Ayers, formerly of the Weather Underground. The Obama campaign and supporters were furious, and they pressured TV stations to pull the ad—a common-enough tactic in such ad spats. What came next was not common. Bob Bauer, general counsel for the campaign (and later general counsel for the White House),

IRS Scandal: The inexplicable raid nearly two years ago on a guitar maker for using allegedly illegal wood that its competitors also used was another targeting by this administration of its political enemies. On Aug. 24, 2011, federal agents executed four search warrants on Gibson Guitar Corp. facilities in Nashville and Memphis, Tenn., and seized several pallets of wood, electronic files and guitars. One of the top makers of acoustic and electric guitars, including the iconic Les Paul introduced in 1952, Gibson was accused of using wood illegally obtained in

Homeland Insecurity: A number of recent terrorist cases call into question Washington´s push to give amnesty to all illegal immigrants, including those from hostile Muslim countries. The latest case involves a possibly illegal Chechen immigrant who reportedly stabbed an FBI agent in Orlando. Ibragim Todashev was close to confessing to a triple homicide in Boston when he suddenly lunged at the agent during an interview. The Muslim man was then shot dead. Todashev, who´d traveled recently to the al-Qaida hotspot of Chechnya, was pals with Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev. Todashev reportedly implicated Tsarnaev in a grisly mass murder in

Two men who allegedly slaughtered a soldier in a Woolwich street were known to security services, it emerged today. David Cameron revealed that authorities were looking into what was already known about Drummer Lee Rigby´s alleged killers, but it is not thought they were considered to be an immediate threat. One of the men, believed to be Michael Adebolajo, is believed to have been arrested after he went to Somalia to join banned Islamist group al Ahabaab. Eyewitness Jamie France, 29, said that his mother had seen Adebolajo preaching as recently as last week. He said:

Radical preacher Anjem Choudary has blamed the terrorist murder in Woolwich on David Cameron and Britain´s actions in Afghanistan. Choudary, who grew up in Woolwich, was responded to reports that the alleged beheading was perpetrated by Islamic terrorists shouting "Allah u Akbar" - God is great. In response to the news, Choudary tweeted: "National News tell me that the man killed in woolwich is apparently being treated as "terrorist" as the attackers were shouting Allahu Akbar. "If they were Muslims killing a British soldier then the presence of British troops in Muslim land [Afghanistan] is surely a cause of insecurity in the UK."

A MAN seen ranting at a video camera moments after a soldier was beheaded in the street is Muslim convert Michael Adebolajo - who was known to MI5. Michael Adebolaj, 28, had reportedly been looked at during probes into extremism in recent years - and was also known to hate preachers Anjem Choudary and Omar Bakri. Tonight the soldier was named as Drummer Lee Rigby, 25, from the 2nd Battalion the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. Meanwhile a man and woman, both 29, were today arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder in relation to the terror attack.

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
