| During negotiations over raising the debt limit in summer 2011, President Obama got stroppy with House Majority Leader Eric Cantor. "Don´t call my bluff," he said, according to Cantor. "I´m going to the American people with this." During this season´s budget fight, the president is not waiting for talks to break down. He´s hitting the road early. On Friday, he will highlight the damage that will be done to the middle class if the country sails over the fiscal cliff on a visit to a manufacturing operation in Hatfield, Penn. (If the Republicans were feeling fun, they´d schedule

I recommend we take the dive off the fiscal cliff. This is the only way to get the mandatory domestic spending cuts. Once off the cliff the House (because that is where all budget matters must originate) pass a permanent tax relief bill reinstating the Bush Tax rates. Let Obama and the Democrats vote against middle class tax relief, good for 2016. Then, pass a second bill to relieve the military of 1/2 the mandatory budget cuts. Let Obama and the Democrats vote against supporting our military during a time of war. Another winning issue for 2016. I sure hope someone in the GOP Leadership reads Lucianne. This is a no brainer...the only way we the people will get the domestic spending cuts.

Obama signed the legislation. It´s "The Obama Fiscal Cliff." Use the language correctly, Republicans! The grifters voted for "The Obama Fiscal Cliff"... give it to them.

Seems I remember a time when presidents sat with congressional leaders and tried to work things out instead of going on the campaign trail and not meeting with the Senate and House leadership. Seemed to work more often than not back in the day. Why doesn´t Obama try that? Or is it just easier and a whole lot more fun to ride on AF1 around the country on the taxpayers´ dime pretending that you care whether or not the economy improves. I hate the media for covering for him.

Why, oh why, is the man still campaigning? Oh...because he does not know how to lead. That makes sense.
4 more years of lousy photo ops, don´t think I can take it.

Propaganda Alert... MSM will call what Obama is doing as Going to the People...
Nooo... Obama is decidedly avoiding any discussion on budgets or fiscal cliffs. He is not negotiating... he is building his case for unilateral decision making by him.
Obama will not work with congress on anything. He will use his army of miscreants to appear on the stage as Average Amerikans who support his EE´s on everything.

In between all the political brush fires that have engulfed the White House in recent days, President Obama and wife Michelle Obama have still managed time for vacation planning. The nation’s first family is looking to cool their jets this summer at a house in Farm Neck on Martha’s Vineyard, according to the Boston Globe. Obama and his family are no stranger to Martha’s Vineyard, having made three previous summer visits to Blue Heron Farm in Chilmark. They skipped going there last summer, and their favorite Blue Heron Farm house might not be available anymore.

Henry, who won the Miss America contest in 2000, has never run for office but has gained some notoriety because of her volunteer work with veterans.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

TRENTON — Gov. Chris Christie today released another ad attacking his likely challenger, state Sen. Barbara Buono, hours after she began airing her first television commercial of the election. The Republican governor´s ad tries to link Buono to former Gov. Jon Corzine. She was Senate budget chairwoman during Corzine´s administration. “As the architect of Jon Corzine’s budgets, Barbara Buono was central to those disastrous policies that brought New Jersey to the brink of catastrophe,"

Former Democratic National Committee spokesperson and future MSNBC weekend host Karen Finney scolded a reporter who on Now this afternoon suggested that the White House may have overestimated how effective claiming that Republicans investigating a series of scandals were on a witch-hunt would be. In return, she asked if the GOP was genuinely concerned about the Obama administration’s scandals including the IRS’s targeting of right-leaning groups, then why didn’t Mitt Romney bring the issue up during the campaign? “One thing that we’ve seen over the last couple days is the degree to which the White House seems to

Tempers flared in a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing Wednesday, with members on both sides of the aisle castigating the Internal Revenue Service for targeting conservative groups with special scrutiny, and then hiding the practice from Congress. Rep. Darrel Issa, the committee´s chairman, said that the committee learned just yesterday that the IRS completed its own investigation a year before a Treasury Department Inspector General report was completed. But despite the IRS recognizing in May 2012 that its employees were treating right-wing groups differently from other organizations, Issa said, IRS personnel withheld those conclusions from legislators.

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming. Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters. “So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care? Why do you, Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, care
