| Former NBCUniversal chief executive Jeff Zucker will be named the next president of CNN, according to new report from The New York Times. This comes about a month and a half after Mediaite reported that the “chattering classes” in the media elite believed Zucker would get the coveted job. CNN has been searching for a new president for roughly four months to replace outgoing president Jim Walton. While many names have come and gone, Zucker’s has remained near the top since day one. Jeff Zucker rode to prominence due to the NBC shows already in place before he came along. While running NBC afterward he ran down the network as he had nothing replacing the shows that stopped production.
I expect some changes at CNN but it won´t be for the better.

Years ago... I use to watch CNN a great deal but have been watching Fox News faithfully in recent years...since CNN has overtly moved to liberal-progressive "bias slanted news". Fox News has great anchors & staff that seem to have traditional moderate news regularly. MSNBC has overtly bias left wing staff and anchors-hosts today. I will continue to watch Fox News and avoid CNN & MSNBC .

Op is correct...A mere scuffling of the deck chairs on the Titanic disaster known, far and wide, as the USS CNN...Until "Captain Outrageous," aka Robert Edward "Ted" Turner III, is bodily removed from the ship´s bridge, the USS CNN will continue it´s direct course into the icebergs of history!

Michael Steinbach, former head of the FBI’s counterterrorism division and now special agent in charge of Miami, told over 30 congressional staffers in March of 2012 that, contrary to the White House´s classification, the bureau does not refer to the Fort Hood shooting as "workplace violence." As head of the FBI counterterrorism division, Steinbach oversaw the investigation into the mass murder at Texas Army base. Steinbach made this claim during an unclassified counterterrorism briefing on Capitol Hill. “Do you guys teach your agents that Fort Hood was workplace violence?” one staffer asked.

The House has already begun its investigation of the IRS scandal, with Friday’s hearing in the House Ways and Means Committee. The Senate Finance Committee will follow in short order, and it has already issued a “request” for detailed information from the agency about its targeting of conservative groups over the last three years. Ironically, it looks a lot like the kind of request that the agency sent out to those groups, with 41 demands and just 11 days to respond. The letter, provided by a source on Capitol Hill, shows that the questioning is likely to feel a lot like an audit:

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. He said it isn´t difficult to figure out who´s doing what at the agency.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued.
