Over at the Huffington Post, media reporter Michael Calderone reports that MSNBC President Phil Griffin seeks to combat the network’s growing reputation as not just being “progressive,” but being openly “pro-Obama.” Many believe the network’s “pro-Obama” reputation has, thus far, been warranted: A recent Pew study found that during the final week of the 2012 election campaign, MSNBC ran zero negative stories about President Obama; and not a single positive story about Republican challenger Mitt Romney. Comedians have also taken to mocking the network for what seems to be an
MSNBC is socialists ALL of the time, rarely a conservative voice. FoxNews has its liberals and socialists on every panel and even its business shows on the weekend. There is no comparison. FoxNews is fair and balanced.
MSNBC has been in the tank for the liberal left and slavish in its´ devotion to Barack Obama for so long that no sane person would call them anything but unfair and unbalanced. They will go broke long before they are viewed as anthing but the propaganda arm of the democrat party.
Well..if you follow their standard proscriptions delivered daily about how to make up for past Discrimination in Society...all they have to do is cover a 100% Republican/Conservative point of view for the next ONE HUNDRED YEARS! (I´ll check back in about 50yrs to see if they are living up to what´s "Fair"...and "encourage" them by Bashing them for the lack of enthusiasm in their reparations)
Unless there is a total housecleaning at NBC News and their subsidary channels such as MSNBC News, I expect the result will not be battling a "Pro-Obama Reputation" but a continued creep of that pro-Obama reputation deeper into the NBC News operations and over to CNBC.
After you have pushed the country over the cliff ....... lied with impunity ......defamed and humiliated untold number of Americans ....... there is NOTHING ...Nothing ......... that you can do to ´rehabilitate´ your reputation ......... let alone get any viewers that haven´t already drunk the coolaid.
Oh please, it was that Maddow thing that called the election for Obama before half the country had finished voting. And she´s been smirking ever sense. They are rabid people over there - all socialists.
Now, why would they want to drop their Pro-Øbama, anti-American, pro-Islamic, pro-illegal immigration, pro-socialist image? It´s working, isn´t it!? More Americans are now of that same agenda than not - obviously, according to this last so-called "election".
Oh please, they do not. How can they not be pro-Obama when they hate Republicans so much? It´s not really about Obama as much as it´s about to-the-core, bitter, flesh-eating, brain-damaging, hatred of the GOP.
They will continue as they have been, despite this pathetic attempt at PR rejuvenation.
Oh, NOW they are going to clean up their act. Right up to the next election when they can go back to covering up for a Renegade Administration, and taking anything a Republican says out of context. As an earlier poster said, their rating must really be in the tank.
He´s a joke out here in the Heartland....WE all know who he is......as WE move our assets -- stock up for the coming recession -- start moving to the "friendly" states...and lock and load for the coming riots....
With as much info that the media knows about but refuses to cover for us the viewers, the fact that they are making this ´just kidding´ attempt to recover viewship must mean that there is something really, really bad out there in the wings.
Too late, they´ve already lost the audience. They won, they got their messiah reelected and the viewers will never, never, believe them again. You can´t turn back now. Comcast should have reeled them in when they had a chance.
Whatever is done at MSNBC, please keep the two biggest losers, Chris Matthews and Lawrence O´Donnell. What whiners and truly miserable human beings. They will do more for the other side in the long run if they continue to spout their rhetoric claiming Republicans are racists because they dared to disagree with Obama. Chris Matthews still thinks he will be the next Tip O´Neill.
Also keep Rachel Madow. She is good for pure entertainment so we can be encouraged when we see a smart, well educated, lesbian demonstrate just how miserable she is. She surely has value as a human being. Perhaps along the way we will get to see her drop her snarky, condescending ways and enter the world as an actual person.
Stop the presses! This has to be THE news item of the year!
Has anyone told MSNBC how irrelevant they really are, how they´re ALWAYS at the rock bottom of the ratings lists, that almost NOBODY watches the ranting and raving of Chris Matthews, that MSNBC almost NEVER has any opposing views on their shows, that their idea of a balanced round table is Joe Scarborough (whose ties to Republicans and conservatives were effectively severed ages ago)? Does MSNBC still not understand that less than one percent of all Americans have ever heard of Rachel Maddow or Lawrence O´Donnell(my figures I admit), or that their network is the single most biased, most disrespected channel of any network anywhere today? It wouldn´t matter if MSNBC nails pro-Obama banners across its front doors and each commentator wears "HELP ELECT OBAMA FOR A THIRD TERM" on their bright red sweatshirts The fact is, MSNBC just DOESN´T MATTER! They could go off the air permanently tomorrow and only a handful of their fellow socialists would even notice. Or care!
Walks like a duck, quacks like a duck. Yep , it´s a duck. The hard thing for those idiots at MSNBC to grasp is that it´s not their just viewers that are stone brain dead, it is those that run that pitiful excuse for a network as well. MSNBC aka Pravda USA.
A fish rots from the head down. NBC is just as awful as MSNBC. Brian Williams is just vile. Foster Friess , Sheldon Adelson, Rove´s multimillion PAC and the rest should forget the ads and instead try and buy a controlling interest in one of the networks. It´s the only way to reach the low information voter. FOX News should also have a directly competing half hour news show in the same low information format as NBC, CBS and ABC. My personal goal for the next four years is to not only avoid seeing or hearing Obama , but , to avoid anything shown on NBC , CNBC , MSNBC or the slyly political Weather Channel. Unfortunately, GE also owns the Military and the History Channel , so, I am not going cold turkey there, but, I will cut back.
Actually, it makes perfect sense. Think like a liberal. There´s plenty of to mea culpa, get rid of trash, get ratings/profits up. Get a rep of some balance then about 15 mo.s or so before the next election start slipping in the propaganda. You know, boil the frog.
#27 Your Mother was right .... and I AM SO STEALING THAT! Thanks! ;-D
Griffin doesn’t think his anchors sugarcoated the situation: “We hire smart people with a progressive sensibility,” he told Calderone. “I tell them to go think for themselves. We don’t have talking points.” ===================================
When you discriminate against those who are not progressive, you have only people who would write left wing talking points left, DUMA$$.
Mr. Griffin is quite a fool, but thinks he is fooling others.
Oh, sure... Their entire lineup is built on 0bama worship and hatred of traditional American values. They have prevailed among the liberal networks by taking the most leftist view on every issue. Even if they dumped all of their programming, conservatives would still not be interested. FOX NEWS has the highest ratings for very good reasons.
On objectivity, integrity, and professionalism, the liberal networks have screwed the pooch!
So PMSDNCNBC wants to "battle" its pro-Odumbo rep heh? Ok since liberals are so fool of advice for us dumb conservatives let me some to that idiot Philly Griffin. You listening blockhead? Good. Advice is as follows: You need to get out of the Obamatank and dry off. Get Chris Matthews some meds for his lunatic behavior and for his tingle in his crotch. Keep you dude Maddow off other shows like the crapfest Late Show with Dipwad Letterman. Its bad eough that you have her/it on PMSBSNBC. And last but not least fire Mika and Scarbouroh because they suck.
The Hollywood Reporter gathered some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry Wednesday morning at the Beverly Hills Hotel for the 22nd annual Women in Entertainment breakfast to honor the Power 100 and present Oprah Winfrey with a leadership award named for former Paramount and 20th Century Fox exec Sherry Lansing. Lansing took the stage at the packed event, sponsored by Lifetime, Gucci, Samsung Galaxy, Audi, Roberto Coin, Guggenheim, City National Bank, the Gersh Agency, Loyola Marymount University and the Entertainment Industry Foundation, to speak about Winfrey, whom she called one of her personal idols. "You conduct your life in
President Barack Obama reportedly plans to nominate Stanley Fischer to be the next vice chairman of the Federal Reserve. The former Bank of Israel Chief would take over for Janet Yellen when she leaves the post to become Fed chairwoman. Fischer, a dual-citizen of the U.S. and Israel, served as the head of Israel’s central bank for eight-years before stepping down on June 30 of this year. Later this summer, the economist sung the Fed’s praises on the Charlie Rose Show. “The United States managed — although it is hard for Americans to believe — managed the crisis better than
Walking out of a private conference room beneath the Capitol Building on Tuesday, Republican House members looked tired. Not the typical "I-had-a-bad-night’s-sleep" tired but something deeper — a look of battle exhaustion. Unlike past meetings in the same place during periods of fever-pitched warfare with Democrats, it appeared — for the first time in a long time — the fire in their bellies that drove them to shut down the government and risk federal default, was, for now, no longer evident. These Republicans had just been briefed on a new, bipartisan budget blueprint that would establish long-term federal government spending
MIAMI- George Zimmerman will not face domestic violence charges because his girlfriend did not wish to pursue the case and there was scant evidence of a crime, a state prosecutor said Wednesday. Samantha Scheibe´s decision not to cooperate and the lack of other corroborating evidence would have made the case difficult to prove, State Attorney Phil Archer in Seminole County said in a statement. "There is no reasonable likelihood of a successful prosecution," Archer said. Zimmerman, 30, had faced charges of aggravated assault, battery and criminal mischief following a Nov. 18 confrontation at the central Florida house he shared with
In a contentious exchange with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius over her repeated claims that mandated health services do not raise costs for consumers in the form of higher insurance premiums, Rep. John Shimkus (R-Ill.) waved his hand in apparent surrender and said to her, “It’s like talking to the Republic of Korea or something.” Shimkus apparently was referring to North Korea, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, where the Communist rulers there spout pro-government propaganda that is then glowingly reported by state-run media.(Video)
"The journalistic bond between The Post and MSNBC just grew a bit stronger, as the paper’s opinion section announced that MSNBC host Rachel Maddow will be writing a monthly column." So began Washington Post media critic Erik Wemple´s announcement Wednesday concerning the addition of the perilously liberal Maddow to the Post opinion page.Honestly, if you were the Post, would you want your relationship with the so-called "news network" considered by most to be the biggest farce in journalism to grow stronger? After the high profile dismissal of Alec Baldwin and Martin Bashir, is this really the time to be adding
Christmas miracle or sickly sweet PR stunt? Either way, it´s unlikely these WestJet passengers care after they had their wildest holiday wishes granted during a flight across Canada. Travelers pitching up at Toronto Pearson and John C. Munro Hamilton International Airports for flights to Calgary were surprised when a virtual Santa Claus asked what they wanted for Christmas. A promo video sees a variety of passengers telling Father Christmas their dream gift. With their wishes made, the footage shows them merrily taking their place on the aircrafts.
When I was a kid, I knew two different Santa Clauses. The first had a fat belly, rosy cheeks, a long white beard, and skin as pink as bubble gum. He was omnipresent, visiting my pre-school and the local mall, visible in all of my favorite Christmas specials. Then there was the Santa in my family’s household, in the form of ornaments, cards, and holiday figurines. A near-carbon copy of the first one—big belly, rosy cheeks, long white beard: check, check, check. But his skin was as dark as mine. Seeing two different Santas was bewildering. Eventually I asked my father what
US President Barack Obama may have moved the masses attending Nelson Mandela’s memorial service with his stirring eulogy, but it was his grinning "selfie" with the Danish and British premiers that set social networks abuzz. In a candid moment captured by a photographer, Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt can be seen holding up her smartphone, with Obama lending a helping hand, as they pose for a picture with David Cameron, all three of them smiling broadly in their seats at Soweto’s World Cup stadium.(Snip)Mashable, the news and technology website, ran the photograph under the headline: ‘‘Dear Obama: Funerals are no place
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
Johannesburg - A man who provided sign language interpretation on stage for Nelson Mandela´s memorial service, attended by scores of heads of state, was a "fake," the national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa said on Tuesday. Asked about the claim by The Associated Press, South Africa´s government said it was preparing a statement. Three sign language experts said the man was not signing in South African or American sign languages. South African sign language covers all of the country´s 11 official languages, according to the federation. It wasn´t immediately clear if the unidentified man was using a
The Obama State Department has finally released a second round of photos revealing the harrowing devastation wrought by a terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. The new photographs depict rampant damage to the consulate. They show charred walls, smoldering fires, Arabic graffiti defacing exterior walls, and scattered debris throughout. The extent of the damage would lead any reasonably serious person to conclude that this was a cold, calculated attack, carefully coordinated to mark the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. Unfortunately for the American people, the Obama-Clinton-Rice cabal that led to the Benghazi cover-up was
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) snapped at conservative groups that have come out in opposition to the budget deal reached Wednesday between Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). "They´re using the American people for their own purposes. This is ridiculous," Boehner said at a press conference with other members of House Republican leadership on Wednesday. Over the past few days, a number of conservative groups have blasted the deal because it sets discretionary spending levels in the budget higher than previous levels under sequestration. In the past three days, the influential Heritage Action, Club for Growth, Americans
