As many wait to see whether Jesse Jackson Jr. will agree to a plea deal in the investigation of allegations that he misused campaign funds—and as Jackson himself reportedly awaits news on whether he’ll get disability pay if he indeed does resign—an even larger question looms for the voters of Jackson’s 2nd congressional district in Illinois. Where do they go from here? Jackson was elected to his 10th term in Congress last week, even as he struggled with health issues and an ongoing ethics investigation. Though he didn’t campaign for reelection as he was receiving treatment at the Mayo Clinic
Black people don´t make moral judgments on other black people,it´s really that simile.Another convicted crook from a Chicago district got reelected also and of course Obama won the big prie despite being the most corrupt president in modern times.Obama screwed poor people out of billions by giving it to his big donor white supporters but they didn´t see that.
Of course you have Jackson jr. supporters out of loyalty for what the old man did for the "movement".
Why isn´t Jackson´s wife being prosecuted when she had to be the one picking out the new curtains and furniture?
There is a difference between trying not to judge others for their misdeeds and electing a mentally ill felon as your representative in Washington, a distinction that obviously millions of voters don´t get. In the meantime, the permanent victim mentality of the black race lives on.
It boils down to the 19th century literature and early 20th century music "trickster" myth. This rascal uses wiles against others for personal gain like Joel Chandler´s Brer Rabbit. Great fun for those who fail to see that the trickster has his hand in the African American pocket too.
Perhaps a minor point, but...Mike Tyson did not rape that young woman. He was a judge at a black beauty pageant, and made it clear to all of the contestants that he was interested in having sex with one of them that evening. And in the wee hours of the morning, he sent his limo to pick up the alleged victim, to deliver her to his hotel. She went to his room, they watched a movie, and afterwards, she testified that she went to the bathroom, removed her panty liner, and went back to the bed. Tyson asked her if she wanted to be on the top or the bottom. She said, ´top´ and did so, they had coitus, and he sent her away, without escorting her downstairs and back to the limo. She was offended by that, and filed charges. The state of Indiana hired a hot shot attorney to act as special prosecutor, and Mike Tyson was railroaded, even after testifying credibly. Justice was not served in the case of Mike Tyson. Please don´t compare the nutcase known as congressman jackson, who looted his campaign funds to fly his mistress (not merely a female friend) to and from D.C. for carnal pleasure, to Mike Tyson. And jackson spent an additional 40.000 dollars on a rolex for his mistress. She must have some unique talents...
Scam artists on the make like Jesse sr and his crew should have been run out of town on a rail for the way they tried to exploit the death of MLK. MLK must be crying real tears because of the total corruption of his message by the Jacksons, Sharptons, etc. Shockingly, after all these decades, white people appreciate and grasp MLK´s message more than the voter base of Jackson.
Look at Africa and all the greatness on display there. It is in the genes. South Africa was better than many European countries in its prime but liberals and communist blacks (Mandela) got the world media and opinion to help them slaughter the Dutch immigrants and other white farmers and now you have one of the most violent countries on the continent. Rhodesia was the bread basket of Africa & very prosperous but world opinion (liberals) crushed until this day white achievers and gave the world Mugabe and dispair. Now everyone is equally miserable. Coming to the USA on the fast track!
there are far too many jj jrs in office......why do people keep electing these incompetent fools....i think the responses have hit upon all the reasons...we´re not a smart nation anymore.....i am very discouraged by the lack of knowledge people have before they vote.............we cant keep spending money like this.....why would people put obama back in....he wont stop the spending......so it has to be free stuff......we´re lazy americans...i didnt work to support those who dont......period....
Sadly, anyone paying attention to politics these days in the "Land of Lincoln," knows Congressman Highjackson, Jr. could have been apprehended for sticking up the Popeye´s Chicken & Biscuits location on North Clark Street yesterday, and still count on a 95% plus support level from his Chi-Town fan base this morning!
Right after the Civil War, white Northeast liberal carpetbaggers installed uneducated former slaves as governors and representatives of Southern States as punishment. This gave rise to the KKK. Will history repeat itself?
#24, so what´s in the genes of Clarence Thomas, Thomas Sowell, Star Parker, Shelby Steele, Allen West, Janice Rogers Brown, Walter Williams, J.C. Watts, Deneen Borelli, Alan Keyes, Herman Cain, etcetera, etcetera???
I suggest it´s nurture, not nature. If mankind were limited by its genes, America would never have arisen from the castaways, runaways, ne´er-do-wells, and dregs of the rest of the world.
#29, maybe it´s not what´s IN their(Sowell, Thomoas etc...) genes, but what is missing.
I have been having this argument: IF it is culture, how come Zimbabwe is become Detroit & vice versa? Maybe, just maybe it is genetic. I feel horribly that the Uhhbama administration is making me question this.
Mike Madigan will meet with the various Revs and they will pick a black candidate for the special election. I don´t know who the white voters in that district will vote for but every single black voter will vote for the black candidate Madigan & Co have chosen for them.
Illinois has gerrymandered the districts in such a way that every Republican seat won in 2010 was taken back by the Democrats in 2012. There are cases where far away Republican suburbs are connected by a thin line drawn for miles so that it connects into the city, where Democrats dominate. Jesse´s district is probably like that.
The answer is very simple, he is a Democrat and they live on the Democrat Plantation.
They have no clue what freedom is really like they only understand dependancy and handouts provided by the liberal DNC. The liberals do not believe that a black person has the capabilities to survive and prosper on their own so they must be cared for like a slow (retarded) child.
Earlier this year, John Kerry and Chuck Hagel took over the top jobs at the Department of State and the Department of Defense, respectively. Since then, Kerry has been hyper-active. But whatever happened to Hagel? He has impinged on our consciousness only once, as Kerry’s sidekick during congressional hearings on authorizing an attack on Syria. The impingement was slight. Kerry and Gen. Dempsey did almost all of the talking. Hagel was content with silence except for an occasional misstatement of fact (the Pentagon had to walk back his claim that Russia supplies Syria with chemical weapons). Presumably, Hagel was under orders to
Former Vice President Dick Cheney reluctantly commented today on the rift between his two daughters Liz and Mary Cheney, saying that he was surprised that Mary, who is lesbian, and her wife attacked Liz on Facebook. “We were surprised that there was an attack launched against Liz on Facebook, and wished it hadn’t happened,” Cheney said at the National Press Club. “It’s always been dealt with within the context of the family and frankly that’s our preference.” After Liz Cheney, a candidate for Senate in Wyoming, made comments on Fox News Sunday indicating that she supports a “traditional” definition of marriage, her
DETROIT -- A judge has given Detroit the green light to cut pensions as a way out of the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history, a decision that puts the case in the laps of thousands of retirees who had hoped that the Michigan Constitution would protect them from getting smaller checks in their golden years. Judge Steven Rhodes said the city is eligible to stay in bankruptcy court and scrub $18 billion in debt, about half of that amount linked to underfunded pensions and health care obligations. But he also warned officials that they´ll need to justify any deep
CAIRO — The century-old home of Egypt´s mummies and King Tutankhamun´s treasures is trying to make the best out of the worst times of political turmoil. But the Egyptian Museum is taking a hammering on multiple levels, from riots on its doorstep to funding so meager it can´t keep up paper clip supplies for its staff. The museum, a treasure trove of pharaonic antiquities, has long been one of the centerpieces of tourism to Egypt. But the constant instability since the 2011 uprising that toppled autocrat Hosni Mubarak has dried up tourism to the country, slashing a key source of revenue.
This pony is raring to go. Two days before its official unveiling, blurry images of the 2015 Ford Mustang have been leaked on an enthusiast website. A member of the SVTPerformance.com forums has posted several photos of an early copy of the December 9th issue of Autoweek magazine featuring the car in a cover story. You can click here for a link to the website. If authentic, the car in the photos looks very much like many of the speculative renderings that have been circulating in recent weeks, and sports a modern take on the signature Mustang fastback design.
Frank DiPascali, a 33-year employee of the firm that ran the largest Ponzi scheme in recent history, took to the stand to testify against his former colleagues. Frank DiPascali, the Bernie Madoff henchman who won the role as the star witness in the biggest fraud case in American history, torched five of his former colleagues with his testimony Monday in federal court. Perhaps more important, DiPascali is the first witness to demolish the myth that Bernard Madoff ever had a legitimate investment advisory business. The star witness also pulverized Madoff’s assertion that he had acted alone in constructing the biggest
Chris Davis´ miraculous game-winning 100-yard field goal return for a touchdown will go down as the greatest finish in Iron Bowl history. It´s the type of finish that a fan wants to remember forever, if it means taking a commemorative photo, storming the field, or even scattering the ashes of a loved one following the game. In Alabama, college football is life and death, and following the Tigers´ incredible 34-28 win over the Crimson Tide on Saturday, one fan scattered the cremated remains of a loved one on the turf at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
President Obama will cast growing income inequality and a decline in economic mobility as a “fundamental threat to the American dream” during a speech Wednesday in Washington. The speech will serve as an early preview for next year’s State of the Union address, according to a White House official, who said Obama would focus much of his energy over the next three years on the issue. “The decisions we make over the next few years will determine whether or not our children will grow up in an America where, if you work hard, you can get ahead,” the official said.
Good stuff from Jonathan Turley at today’s House hearing on executive power, although I regret that I couldn’t find a more user-friendly format for you to watch. There’s no compilation clip; you’ll have to make do with the C-SPAN embed by fast-forwarding to the time cues I give you and being patient while the vid buffers (and buffers, and buffers).(Snip)That brings us to point two: Even if Congress can’t stop Obama, the courts can. The problem there, though, says Turley, is that O and the DOJ have argued successfully in many cases that no one has standing to sue him
Bill Clinton, the cliché goes, was the first black president, no matter his skin color. That being the case, Barack Obama is not the first black president, or the first African-American president, if you prefer, but the first hippie president. Clinton’s southern background and lifestyle were indeed more typically black, just as Obama’s was more typically hippie. And we’re not just talking about the “Choom gang” here, scarfing “Maui Wowie” on the sands of Oahu. We’re talking about all of it, the whole multi-culti-missing-white-mother-vanished-Kenyan-father-anti-imperialist-America-is-always-the-enemy-and-don’t-you-forget-it-nine-yards. And like most hippie culture as I knew and experienced it, it wasn’t about “peace and love.” Not
During a presentation at the White House in which President Barack Obama touted the benefits of the Affordable Care Act, the president declared that his signature health care reform law was not going to be repealed. This assertion led his administration members, his staff, and audience members to rise from their seats and give the president a standing ovation. Obama said that ACA opponents’ alternative to the health care reform law is to champion repeal and going back to the health care delivery system status quo ante. He specifically cited Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) who he said was asked directly for
A woman has revealed how difficult it is to eat healthily and stay full when living off an average food stamp budget. Melinda Moulton, from Huntington, Vermont, was one of 200 people to take part in the 3Squares Challenge, which saw her living for a week on just $36 worth of food, or around $1.71 a meal. Opting to try and eat as healthily as possible, Ms Moulton resorted to cheap foods like yogurt for breakfast, two handfuls of peanuts for lunch and lentil stew for dinner, all of which left her unsatisfied.´I don´t know how people do it,´ said
[Video] President Obama on Wednesday declared that addressing income inequality would be the focus of “all” of the White House’s efforts “for the rest of my presidency.” In a sweeping address that touched on raising the minimum wage, investing in infrastructure and ending tax breaks for the wealthy, Obama warned that the American economy has become “profoundly unequal,” declaring economic mobility the “challenge of our time.” “The combined trends of increasing inequality and decreasing mobility pose a fundamental threat to the American dream, our way of life, and what we stand for around the globe,” he said in an hour-long
Just over two weeks ago, MSNBC host Martin Bashir delivered a harsh piece of commentary that culminated in the suggestion that someone should “s-h-i-t” in former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin‘s (R-AK) mouth. Bashir offered an abject apology on his next broadcast, but a chorus of critics continued to demand action against the host. After a reported “vacation” for the host earlier this week, Bashir announced, Wednesday afternoon, that MSNBC and Martin Bashir are parting ways. Here’s the statement from Martin Bashir, via email: After making an on-air apology, I asked for permission to take some additional time out around the Thanksgiving holiday. Upon
