| Twenty-four percent of NJ Transit´s rail fleet was damaged during Hurricane Sandy after rail cars and locomotives were stored in two rail yards that forecasters predicted would flood, according to a report on Reuters.com. The decision might cost the transit agency tens of millions of dollars to make the necessary repairs, which could take months, Reuters said. NJ Transit parked equipment at Meadows Maintenance Complex, near the Hackensack and Passaic rivers and at its Hoboken terminal and rail yard. Government/union partnership in action: public transit company left its trains in an area where they were sure to be damaged, incurring enormous expenses and emergency overtime repair work.

Given the track record of such concerns, a nice round of holiday bonuses is in the cards.

This will not cost NJ Transit one cent. The taxpayers of New Jersey will be proud and happy to pay for it all. They will be equally gleeful to pay for the gigantic salaries and bloated pensions of the government geniuses that allowed it all to happen.

The sad part of this is that BloomieChristCuomo never learned from Katrina and Allison. These maroons couldn´t take the lessons from both these, one a cat 3 hurricane and another a storm like Sandy. Allison damaged the Texas Medical Center and lots of private properties in Houston and Galveston. Residents did not wait for Gooberment to get them up and going. Power was lost in areas for more than 2 weeks. Neighbors helped neighbors. Why can´t NJ residents do the same? A nation of takers cannot stand on their own 2 feet!
