Congress to investigate
Benghazi ´talking points´

WASHINGTON — Lawmakers want to know who had a hand in creating the Obama administration´s now-discredited "talking points" about the Sept. 11 attack on a U.S. diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya, and why a final draft omitted the CIA´s early conclusion that terrorists were involved. The answers could explain why President Barack Obama and top aides, including U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, described the attack for days afterward as a protest against an anti-Islam video that spontaneously turned violent and why they played down any potential link to al-Qaida

Anyone paying attention knows it´s ol´ Paddy-Lips Tom Donilon. What a butt-kissing putz.

This is idiocy. It was the administration´s policies that invited the attack and the administration´s policies that sought to cover it up, aided by a compliant, sympathetic media. Focusing on who changed the PowerPoint bullets is silly and serves only the purposes of the administration in ensuring there will be no general public outrage against the president´s willful lies in the face of terrorism.

Why is it that when republicans do things, it is always with a political motive but Di Fi says there is nothing political about this cover-up. I agree with #2, this is a side show distraction which I am sure the admin is loving because we are not focused on the real fact that we have four dead Americans because this admin chose not to help rescue them.

Isn´t ´talking points´ too narrow an investigation? What about the fact that fellow Americans including an Ambassador were begging for military support for HOURS during the attack and someone gave the order not to help them and let them die. Crickets.

It´s not about the "talking points" stupid, it´s about the "stand down" order! Talk about the fog of war...this is the fog of cover up! Am I ever going to read the news and not get po´d?

"This is old news, and we have more important things to discuss now!"

Let´s investigate two orders; the president´s order to do everything possible, and the stand down order.

Who did the president give his order to and what happened to that order.

Who issued the stand down order.

After those questions are answered maybe we can discuss talking points.

Benghazi=Obozo criminal neglience= TREASON

Who cares about Rice talking points.. the only person that can give a military "stand down" order repeatability for 7 hours until the consulate deaths is Obozo the pResident. There is no reason that can be given for not protectiong the lives of those in the embassy that does not demand impeachment

Congress will `investigate` Benghazi. It will have the same results as Fast & Furious.

People can`t name their own congressperson. Why would they care about `foreign entanglements`?

You are just waisting money (but guess it is just as well as giving it to the bums and union people who don´t want to work).
This will go just like the election -- the dumbed down democrats will win and there will never be anything come of this. In fact Obama could have known this from the start and told them to do it all, and it still would be hushed up. Forget it ,,, we are doomed.

The upstanding, honest, reliable and just plain all around wonderful person that she is by the name of Diane Feinstein (D-CA) has reservations about the "talking points" so the bulldog press that they are can now tear into this story.

Watergate was chump change compared to the four Americans serving their country in Libya, under attack, calling for help, and a Muslim pResident refusing aid and letting them die.

Shout it from the rooftops, this pResident is a criminal!!

What, are they all congenital idiots? After EVERY attack, security was stripped from the ambassador. Who sent him from tripoli to benghazi? Who ordered NO HELP as they watched for 9 hours, the slaughter of our people? Why did obama want stevens dead?

Americans in a new ABC News/Washington Post poll sharply reject special scrutiny of conservative groups by the Internal Revenue Service, suspect an administration cover-up of the Benghazi incident and express substantial distrust of the federal government more generally. (Snip) Longer-term impacts of contentious current issues remain to be seen, but there´s potential for significant damage to the administration. Americans by a vast 74-20 percent see the IRS´ behavior as inappropriate, with most feeling that way strongly - and 56 percent see it as a deliberate attempt to harass conservative organizations, not a mere administrative error.

A massive tornado ripped through Moore, Okla., Monday afternoon, leveling a huge swath of a residential area in the suburb of Oklahoma City. Video footage from KFOR-TV showed houses, businesses and at least two schools completely demolished, with cars strewn about. Police and emergency crews have begun to respond, but debris has clogged roadways. There is no tally yet on injuries or deaths, but news anchors said significant casualties are expected. At least one large fire has broken out amid the rubble. The twister is already being compared to the May 3, 1999 storm that ripped through Moore

LOS ANGELES - More poor people live in the nation´s suburbs than in urban cities because of affordable housing, service-sector jobs and the increased use of housing vouchers, according to a study released Monday. The number of those in poverty living in suburbs jumped 67 percent between 2000 and 2011, a much larger increase than in cities, researchers for the Brookings Institution said. Suburbs, however, still have a smaller percentage of the poor than cities do. The report notes that poor people were pulled to the suburbs by more affordable homes and followed jobs that were often low paying.

LOS ANGELES -- flocking to Southern California beaches are used to feeding the meter or paying a parking attendant. Not so along the less developed north coast where it´s customary to ditch cars on the shoulder of Highway 1 to surf, swim or picnic. That sandy line that long defined the state´s disparate beach culture may soon fade. In search of new revenue, the state parks system is eyeing parking fees for parts of the Northern California shoreline where none existed or considering hiking rates to visit popular beaches south of Los Angeles during peak periods.

CAIRO — The pale, young Christian woman sat handcuffed in the courtroom, accused of insulting Islam while teaching history of religions to fourth-graders. A team of Islamist lawyers with long beards sang in unison, "All except the Prophet Muhammad." (Snip) Blasphemy charges were not uncommon in Egypt under the now-ousted autocrat Hosni Mubarak´s regime, but there has been a surge in such cases in recent months, according to rights activists. The trend is widely seen as a reflection of the growing power and confidence of Islamists, particularly the ultraconservative Salafis. "Salafis are the engineers of these stories,"

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming. Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters. “So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care? Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.

U.S. Sen. John McCain bucked the party line coming from many of his fellow conservatives this morning, saying suggestions that compare the trio of scandals gripping the White House to Watergate are “overreaching.” “I think it’s overreaching. We need a full and complete investigation and then we will decide the dimensions of it,” said McCain while campaigning for Republican Senate candidate Gabriel Gomez in Dorchester. “It is terrible but we have to have a full investigation before we leap to conclusions.” The maverick’s caution is a sharp contrast to the response of many Republicans
