Looks like the Republican establishment types are shaping up another Democrat Lite type slate of national candidates for the Republicans.

They should remember that next time around, they will be going up against whoever the liberal Democrats nominate, either Hillary Clinton or another Obama clone, and on top of that, will have both Barack Obama and Bill Clinton essentially campaigning again for whoever the liberal Democrats put up, and you just know they would love to run against another Bush.

Two more candidate who have the ability to put the base to sleep.

Jeb was governor of FL. He did a good job. I like him. But we don´t need any more Bushes in the White House. He would never win for that very reason.

Sarah Palin could. We would not have lost to O if she´d been in either place on the ticket. As for Christie, sorry pal, you used up your well thought of position when you kissed O´s butt after the hurricane.

I still like Newt, although I guess his time is passed. Paul Ryan impressed me. There are good people still but if Rove and his elitist buddies pick another RINO, I´m like another poster here, I´d vote for Obama fist.

No chance, we need a conservative Republican to run in 2016, if the country can survive the incompetence and corruption until then.

The real problem with this is not the names being floated - who else would you expect to be mentioned at this point? - but with the very notion that GOP 2016 will matter at all. Financial collapse, a permanent socialist votng majority (a key Obama goal) and a federal court system completely unmoored from the Constitution will render all of this meaningless.

I lived in Fla when he was Governor and he was well regarded and did a great job, especially far superior to either Bush 41 or 43 when it came to hurricanes. He had a competent staff and good communications up and down the state, part of which I was involved in.

He has to be 200% better than what we have now and if anyone thinks otherwise I´d wonder about what you really are.

Truthfully, I would far prefer the Tea Party become a recognized Party and put up their own candidates for President, VP and both Houses of Congress. We would be far closer to returning to our Constitution and our Republic.

Since you folks like to play the "know it all" card, without looking it up, let´s see you list the NINE specific DUTIES of the President of the US and where would you find them listed. Once you figure that out then you can start looking for someone who will do THOSE duties.

I don´t think any of the names being bounced around right now deserve the harshness of some of these comments. Try to keep the blood pressure under control, guys. It´s really easy to stand back and say "no". I can think of few that I would hate to vote for in 2016, but I would be there if necessary. Jeb Bush was a good governor. He might have been the Republican nominee in 2008 if he had won his governership at the same time Dubya was winning his. Jeb was always thought to be a better candidate. Christie´s constituents seem to believe he is a good governor, too. So do Jindal´s supporters. I would remind the Palin hopers that she has never indicated she would like to run for President and is apparently happy in Alaska. That chance has passed. Probably there are some names none of us have considered. I´m hoping there is a spot for Susana Martinez. After all, we´ve got lots of time to think about it.

I have always voted. No matter who the Repub candidate was. I marched to the poll and cast my vote. Never again. I will either not vote or do a write in vote. Jeb, Christie, or any other liberal Repub will not get my vote again. First of all they would lose. And, second they are worse than a Dem because at least with a Dem we can fight. When there is a viper in the nest we have a harder time resisting. So, if that makes me responsible for Obama and other Dems winning..then so be it. They will win anyway. But at least I can make a statement that the Repubs are no better. That is how I will vote. Never never never again will I vote for an establishment Repub. Thanks for your "concern", #52. I was not a Romney fan, but, I sent him a chunk of money and voted for him, and I did the same thing for McCain. I have voted in every major election since 1972. I understand the math about withholding my vote, I know that in reality it saves the opponent two votes, the one they needed to tie and the one needed to go ahead. But, Christie is a HUGE Liberal and his slobbering all over obama and springsteen has disgusted me to the point that he will never get my vote.

I think the problem is that it is too soon to talk about ANY election right now. We are only two weeks away from the previous FOUR year campaign. I don´ think it is healthy to even want to think about 2014 or 2016 at this time We all should take a break from it until at least after January 1st. Personally I would like to take at least a year off thinking about 2016.

I´m with #63´s sentiments, as I am frequently, both as to warming up to Romney to where I voted ´for´ him, not just against Barry the Fraud, and about the state of the country in 2016. I think Romney is a good man and would be a far better President than what we are stuck with for four more long years. I am not happy with the Tea Party as all I get from them is more request for more money and I don´t think Conservatives and Libertarians are a good match, their idea of drugs for anyone or everybody is not a conservative concept. But I am like many of you folks, the Republicans better come up with a Conservative nominee or I will not be voting.
