| Former CIA Director David Petraeus stoked the controversy over the Obama administration´s handling of the Libya terror attack, testifying Friday that references to "Al Qaeda involvement" were stripped from his agency´s original talking points -- while other intelligence officials were unable to say who changed the memo, according to a top lawmaker who was briefed. Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., told Fox News that intelligence officials who testified in a closed-door hearing a day earlier, including Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and Acting CIA Director Mike Morell, said they did not know who changed the talking points.

Comments: So does this mean if I just mail talking points to all the various departments with no header, they´ll just go out and regurgitate them with no concern where they came from? Did someone not think to bring their copies with them so they could look at the letter-head and answer the basic question? Getting a straight answer out of these people over the simplest detail is getting really maddening.

She didn´t know she was lying? Sorry, not buying. They had to coordinate to get the story straight beforehand. Besides which , she has a responsibility to ensure she is telling the truth if she is going to go on 5 Sunday shows.

Obama already told us where her talking points came from; Zippy himself, or the White House staff at his or Valerie´s direction.

What is it with these people. Do they have to lie about everything? You can bet they know who changed it and why.

My vote is that the guilty party is Tom Donlin, the NSC director. Bob Gates thought he was the source of the Bin Ladin leaks to the NY Times last year and told him to shut the f___ up about classified matters to the press.

Someone is lying. Most likely more than one person.
Subpoena everyone in the loop and interview them separately behind closed doors and find out whose stories don´t add up.
Be relentless and remind them all of the penalty for perjury.

Someone has to pay for these crimes.

Oh my, oh my. Are they going to ask the tough questions? Who changed the cover-up story? Who´s sleeping with who?
These are not the questions that need to be asked.
Why have Russia, China and Iran very vocally allied themselves with Assad´s Syria? Why has Russia deployed troops to protect Russia´s mediteranean naval port, which is in Syria? Why has NATO pledged it´ full support to Turkey in any actions that Turkey decides to take against Syria? Why is Turkey so upset about missile attacks on their airforce? Why is the Russian representative in the UN condemning "someone" in the west of criminaly running guns from fallen Libya into Syria? Why after the latest attack on Turkish aircraft did a Turkish representative covertly meet with Stevens in Benghazi? How lucky is that Turkish representative to have left the meeting with Stevens minutes before an attack? Why is it that Russia, China, Iran, NATO, Turkey, the Islamic Brotherhood are all in Syria during a civil war making loud angry noises? Why is there no doubt in my mind that obama is running weapons to rebel forces in Syria (in all fair play obama does have a history with gun running in Mexico)? With all of the worlds military powers right in the middle of a nasty civil war with angry points of view, why is no one in washington asking anything about this situation?

Senator Paula Broadwell? It might have been. TIME Magazine reports that David Petraeus’ mistress considered running for as a Republican candidate for senate in North Carolina — but the then-CIA director was against the idea. In July, Broadwell was in Aspen, Colo., for the Aspen Security Forum, TIME said on Thursday, and told a handful of people that GOP financiers had approached her about a possible campaign. She told the acquaintances that when she informed Petraeus, he questioned her positions on issues ranging from abortion to gun control to taxes.

President Obama is holding on to Eric Holder as the nation’s top law-enforcement official, The Post has learned. The newly re-elected president asked his controversial attorney general to stay for the second term, and Holder has agreed despite enduring a firestorm of criticism from Republican lawmakers. “I don’t know if everyone in the White House wants him [Holder] to stay, but the important guy does, and that’s all that matters,” said one person briefed on the matter. Holder’s office declined to comment. His hardest-fought battle came over the botched sting operation called Fast and Furious,

Washington - Anonymous harassing emails that Tampa socialite Jill Kelley turned over to the FBI contained information about the movements of CIA Director David Petraeus which was not publicly available, a law enforcement source told Reuters. The fact that the emails´ author - later determined to be Petraeus´ mistress Paula Broadwell - knew confidential information about the CIA chief´s activities was one of the main reasons the FBI felt compelled to launch an in-depth investigation into their origin and motivation, the source said. The emails, which a second law enforcement source said included

Tampa - The South Tampa woman connected to the Gen. David Petraeus scandal has called police to her home several times in the last few days, and at least once tried to invoke "diplomatic protection." Media from around the world have convened on the two-story Bayshore Boulevard home of Scott and Jill Kelley. Jill is the socialite mother of three whose FBI complaint about harassing emails eventually led investigators to uncover the CIA director´s affair with his biographer and is now linked to the name of a second top general. The Kelleys have kept a low profile since news of the scandal broke,

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. And Sarah blasted him on Twitter as a bully. Is that, is it, is he a bully? Is he a bad, what is he?

Five months into his second term, allies and enemies are as confounded as ever about who President Obama really is. Is he the dyed-in-the-wool liberal that his biggest supporters and critics suggest? Or is he a pragmatic, even cynical, politician who cares more for his popularity than taking risks for his ideological goals or living up to his rhetoric? Even in the short period since his reelection, Obama has provided evidence to support conflicting interpretations. His efforts to pass immigration reform, the unsuccessful push for stricter gun controls and tax hikes on high earners buttress the case for Obama-as-ideologue.

Jeb Bush says he’s not worried that his work toward comprehensive immigration reform and his ties to the GOP establishment will alienate conservatives and negatively impact a potential 2016 presidential campaign, referring to critics as “the chirpers.” “If I decide to run for office again, it will be based on what I believe, and it will be based on my record,” the former Florida governor said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody. “And that record was one of solving problems completely from a conservative prospective.” Bush (R) pointed to his conservative

Is Marco Rubio, R-Fla., getting played by Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.? During his interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl this morning, Rubio didn’t even seem to understand what that meant. “Are you being played by the Democrats?” asked Karl. “Is Chuck Schumer playing you?” “I don’t — I quite frankly, I don’t even know what that means,” Rubio replied. “Is he using you?” Karl continued. “Is he using you to try to accomplish something that the Democrats want and is not — not a conservative bill?” Rubio responded that immigration reform was a bi-partisan issue that “all Americans

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
