rooted in jealousy

WASHINGTON - Two days after the abrupt resignation of CIA Director David Petraeus, more details are emerging about the chain of events that led to his departure. (Snip) Some close to Petraeus say he´s told them the affair with Broadwell began about two months after he took over the Central Intelligence Agency in September 2011, and the affair ended about four months. Friends of Petraeus say he described the trysts with Broadwell as "infrequent," and he said he never pursued her after the affair ended.

Comments:
The Petraeus-Broadwell "relationship" has a continuously shifting timeline.

We need to make scorecards to keep track of the timeline and players.

The nation absolutely plastered with articles, deep investigative adventures by intrepid journalists ! Oh, I am so impressed with their newfound intellectual curiosity and touching concern for our national security. Why is it always a dumb Republican that rescues powerful Democrats? They seem to know from the very beginning who they should lure into their tent, who would be "useful." This story being twisted to and fro all for the purpose of taking care of Obama - and protecting Hillary.

Petraeus. Broadwell. Players. A novel co-authored by Henry Fielding and Hunter S. Thompson about 1960s pro football players?

Anytime you have a girlfriend on the side and she thinks that you have another girlfriend on the side you are moving towards sticky wicket territory real fast. Most worldly people know that.

The two women who have been named so far are really interesting, #1 Paula Broadwell (Krantz) 40, is from Bismark, ND, graduated from West Point, is a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserve, is married to a doctor (radiologist) has two children, lives at Charlotte, NC and is doctoral candidate at a college in London, England. #2 Jill Kelley (Khawam) 37, is originally from Lebanon and grew up in Philadelphia, PA to where her family immigrated and run a Middle East Restaurant. She may by employed by the US Dept. of State as a liaison officer to the Special Operations Command at McDill AFB, Tampa, FL. Some other media reports say that she is actually an unpaid social liaison person on the base. She is married to a doctor (surgeon) has children and lives in the Tampa area.

This situation has to be embarrassing to some people who may be entirely innocent. Too bad that Mr. Petraeus "outed" himself in the fashion that he did, while he could have said that he was resigning for personal reasons?

He probably recognized that the Obama crew would have immediately blown the whistle on him to try to immunize themselves from charges that they dumped him to keep him from spilling the beans on what really happened in Benghazi 9-11-12 and thereafter in Washington, DC.

There´s plenty of sex all over the internet. So what! His actual downfall is rooted in some knowledge that 0bama doesn´t want him to tell Congress.

Couldn´t resist; had to have; lust won over. And the end result -- you opened yourself up for blackmail. You are the perfect fool Petraeus. You have given Obama and Clinton the excuses they needed to wriggle their way out of the Benghazi cover-up. No wonder they´ve been hanging on to the video story, but that can all change now thanks to your sexual desires. Just because this woman wanted you was no reason to put the United States in danger.

I don´t blame Petraeus for getting a little on the side. His wife is a hideous beast. Compared to that Sherman Tank, Paula Broadwell is much more alluring. Petraeus probably thought "Hey, I am 60 years old...I saved Iraq in 2006 with the surge, I was "the man" in Afghanistan, and now I am CIA director...why am I stuck with this liberal, ugly wife who has the sexual direction of Hillary? I am going to be the Alpha Male and conquer in this space just like I did in the Middle East..."

Why Did Lois Lerner
Take the Fifth?

Among the criteria by which the Internal Revenue Service selected groups in for its political targeting program in 2012 was "educating on the constitution and bill of rights" (lowercase in original), according to the Inspector General´s Report. Lois Lerner, who directs the office at the center of that effort, has received her own education in the Constitution.(Snip)Josh Marshall, proprietor of TalkingPointsMemo.com, concedes that Lerner "has every right" to invoke the Fifth Amendment "and may be wise to do so. But that´s a decision that simply is not consistent with her remaining in her job.

CINCINNATI, OH - The claim that the ongoing IRS scandal is limited to low level employees is falling apart. The six Cincinnati workers we have identified, who sent scrutinizing letters to conservative groups with words including "patriot, liberty, tea party or 9-12" in their names are Mitchel Steele, Carly Young, Joseph Herr, Stephen Seok, Liz Hofacre and a woman identified only as Ms. Richards. (Snip) Because all six of our IRS workers have different individual and territory managers, Cindy Thomas is one manager they all have common.

We can now officially call the Obama administration besieged. One of President Obama´s underlings is set to plead her Fifth Amendment Right against self-incrimination in the burgeoning IRS scandal. The Los Angeles Times broke the story: Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won´t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening - or why she didn´t disclose it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor III. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday.

How Apple scores
its lower tax bill

Apple is one of America´s most profitable companies. And it pays a substantial income tax bill to the U.S. government -- by its own account, $6 billion in 2012 and an estimated $7 billion this year. But many tax experts and lawmakers say Apple´s tax bill should be bigger. A lot bigger. The concern is that Apple (Snip), while complying with U.S. laws, is nevertheless taking advantage of loopholes in the tax code to shift a substantial amount of income to offshore subsidiaries in low-tax countries. The result is billions of dollars in profits every year that go untaxed.

You almost have to admire Carl Levin´s timing. Amid a furor over politicized IRS tax enforcement, the Michigan Democrat on Tuesday tried to change the subject to a hardy Washington perennial—corporate tax loopholes. Too bad his designated business pinata, Apple, AAPL -0.74% demonstrates instead the insanity of the tax code that Mr. Levin has done so much to write. Mr. Levin unveiled the results of his months-long investigation into Apple´s corporate taxes (Snip)What Mr. Levin did not do was present any evidence of anything illegal or even inappropriate. He did prove that Apple has smart accountants and tax lawyers.

WASHINGTON — As the Internal Revenue Service´s last two directors struggled to provide answers Tuesday about the agency´s improper scrutiny of conservative groups, a lawyer for another key IRS official said she would invoke the 5th Amendment rather than answer questions about the screening and why she didn´t tell Congress about it. Lois Lerner, director of exempt organizations for the IRS, will assert her right against self-incrimination during her scheduled appearance Wednesday before the House oversight panel.

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming. Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters. “So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care?
