**Exclusive** Senate Minority
Leader: No Tax Hikes

Breitbart's Big Government, by Ben Shapiro

Original Article

With conservatives across the country concerned about a rumored Republican cave-in in Washington, D.C. over tax policy, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is speaking out. Read his lips: no tax hikes. McConnell said in an exclusive statement to Breitbart News: One issue I’ve never been conflicted about is taxes. I wasn’t sent to Washington to raise anybody’s taxes to pay for more wasteful spending and this election doesn’t change my principles. This election was a disappointment, without doubt, but let’s be clear about something: the House is still run by Republicans,

Comments:
Bush the 1st said the exact same thing and what did we get? Anyone? Anyone?

Right, OP. Boehner's lied before. He's other lying today, or he lied yesterday.

Yeah, what was that Senator? You were saying something about taxes....

Tired of empty promises and empty suits. This country is in a real mess and we need leadership!

Good. Hold fast.

No tax increases or let the Bush tax cuts expire for EVERYONE.

Broaden the base, everyone should have skin in the game.

It's great to hear the minority leader say he'll dig in his heels on taxes. So what if GHWB caved? McConnell is a different man. I just hope that he and other Republicans in the House and Senate stand firm.

McConnell is right: Republicans still control the House (where taxing and spending bills must originate), and still have a robust minority in the Senate.

I'm ready to fight back! With whatever power we still have, which is considerable.

Chin-less, spine-less Mitch. Toss in your towel. It does not matter any longer. This country is either Sodom and Gomorrah or Moses being shown miracles from above. John Roberts saw the light. Israel has been fighting those that surround her for how long? How much longer can she stand? This country is not one our Founding Fathers would be proud of. We have long ago fallen from His grace. This is judgement day for America. Our coffers and your integrity are lacking. Your lips are moving yet we do not hear you. Our generation spent the last years loving a country which will no longer be honored. By God or by mortal man. Samson killed the lion. He did not call it a pussycat and offer milk. Sit down, wipe your chin and go use your credit card from the US Taxpayers. Where you and yours are leading us, not real sure I wish to follow.

Tax increases are in the first chapter of the liberal bible.8 of the 10 wealthiest counties in the country went for Obama. they're begging for a tax increase,or are they. Maybe Obama promised them no tax increases.

Personally,i don't see a reason not to raise capital gains taxes on people who made over $500,000 in lazy income. A lot of this money has come from the feds money pumps.People paying 17% tax rates while sitting on their ass is different than a 60 hour workweek employer.

Investment is different than it was 20-30 years ago. The stock market has become a racket in it's own right and no longer reflects he real economy. It's pure gamesmanship.

You have super rich liberals who got that way having the inside track to government contracts, like public housing building. This is a huge enterprise in big cities and kickbacks are rampant.

Obama and Reid are waiting in the weeds to spring a tax increase on the rich but what they don't tell you is most of the wealth in this country is held by liberals, who are stingy as hell. They want their tax increases to target people like the Koch brothers, not their own big donors.

Mitch, babe, you have no power. I'd rather have tax hikes than amnesty, reparations, a racial quota system for hiring. Taxes are much easier to fix.

As you may have heard, Kevin Williamson made the leap from “National Review writer” to “Great American Hero” last night when he decided that enough was enough, that he could no longer idly stand by and watch the shameful state of affairs in our nation’s theaters go unchallenged, that he had to take matters into his own hands. From his account: The lady seated to my immediate right (very close quarters on bench seating) was fairly insistent about using her phone. I asked her to turn it off. She answered: “So don’t look.

The letter To Congress from the National Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Council of the American Federation of Government Employees Affiliated with AFL-CIO warns of the discretionary power the bill gives to “political appointees” and takes away from law enforcers: “Congress can and must take decisive steps to limit the discretion of political appointees and empower ICE and CBP to perform their respective missions

The American ammo shortage has been a boon for foreign ammo makers as ammunition imports into the U.S. doubled during the first months of 2013. According to data from the Commerce Department and the International Trade Commission, imports of ammo cartridges as well as shotguns have just about doubled during the first two months of 2013. For the first two months of 2013, about 457 million cartridges were imported into the U.S. — more than double the amount of cartridges that were imported during the first two months of 2012.

The House was in no rush to take up an internet tax bill that senators approved Monday night. And even if the House takes up the issue, lawmakers said, it will be a bill very different from the Seante´s. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., said to expect “thoughtful” consideration in the House, which will involve committee debate and amendments. The version passed in the Senate by a 69-27 vote “has a long way to go,” Goodlatte said Monday.

The Montgomery County Council approved a trio of pay raises for union employees, which will cost the county almost $32 million in fiscal 2014. The council approved the firefighters, police and county government employees union packages 8-1, with only Councilman Phil Andrews, D-Gaithersburg/Rockville, voting against the contracts. He repeatedly has said they´re too high and unsustainable. Though the packages span two years, the council approved only the first year of the deals, which would give employees an average of 7 to 10 percent raises.

For months now, men have been starving themselves in Guantanamo Bay to get the attention of the American people. And for weeks these men, prisoners of the War on Terror, many of whom have been cleared for release, have had the attention of the White House, which is filled with officials, including the President, who sympathize with the prisoners’ plight. “It’s not sustainable,” President Obama said Tuesday, breaking his silence about the protest against his own government. “I mean, the notion that we’re going to continue to keep over 100 individuals in a no-man’s land in perpetuity."

Candy Crowley opened the Congressional “State of the Union” panel by providing her assessment that the national security infrastructure “worked” prior to the Boston Marathon bombings. Specifically, Crowley said it did not appear that authorities failed to share information or “connect the dots” with the Tsarnaev brothers: (Snip) The facts surrounding Crowley’s assertion seem to suggest otherwise. Both Tamerlan Tsarnaev and his mother, Zubeidat Tsarnaeva, were present on the TIDE (Terrorist Identities Datamart Environment) list.

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen.
