| In DEFIANCE, Ohio — For more than 50 years, the economic fate of this tiny town in northwest Ohio has been inextricably linked to the health of General Motors, its largest employer. And so when two local lawyers put up a billboard in the cornfield across from Defiance’s GM plant with a picture of the GM logo above the word “alive” and a photo of Osama bin Laden above the word “dead,” you might have expected nods of approval. I heard on a radio news broadcast on Friday (19th) that the Nissan plant in Smyrna, TN has just gone to full 3-shift operations and they're hiring hundreds (800?).
One big difference from Government Motors, though...

GM will be toast when President Romney dumps all of the worthless GM stock piled up at the Treasury Dept. Then Government Motors will face the music and pay the piper.
Lots of other 0-cronies will flounder without their sugar daddy.

Maybe these people realize how many others had to suffer to allow them to keep their jobs. the shareholders, the bondholders, the Delphi pensioners, many GM auto dealers, and all the taxpayers whose money was used and will never be paid. Maybe they are real Americans who do not enjoy a Government who divides people into groups, and decides who will win and who will lose. and possibly the cost of health insurance is starting to rise rapidly, like it is for the rest, who the Government lied to. Maybe they fear the misery that many endure will finally catch up with them.

Apropos of #5's comment, GM is standing on the skulls of the thousands destroyed by it's 'saving'.
The day that Uhhhbama allowed that travesty of a 'bankruptcy', long standing black letter law on creditor priority DIED in America, and contract law took a HUGE hit.

The latest reporting in the matter of Fox News Channel’s James Rosen indicates the Obama administration fought to keep the search warrant for Rosen’s private email account secret, arguing that the government might need to monitor the account for a lengthy period of time. WASHINGTON — Haynes Johnson, a pioneering Washington journalist who won a Pulitzer Prize for his coverage of the civil rights movement and migrated from newspapers to television, books and teaching, died Friday. A FREE press in a democracy demands a delicate balance. The First Amendment means the media must have the right to inquire without hindrance. The government has a legitimate interest in keeping some national security information secret. When these come into conflict, the balance often has been struck this way: The media are free to pursue secrets, but it is up to those in government to keep them. When the media come into possession of information that, if disclosed, could be damaging, the government can plead the case for secrecy — and the media generally are open to persuasion.

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have reversed their longstanding membership guidelines to allow homosexuals to join the organization. Abuse Of Power: Any scandal investigation that expects a "Eureka!" moment, a White House e-mail, or Oval Office smoking gun will be misguided. In fact, the dots are already connected directly to the president. Barack Obama is not foolish enough to have a tape recording system hidden in his desk. And his administration staff are not careless enough to send one another incriminating e-mails. If the president was behind the IRS unlawfully harassing conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, we can be sure the communications were all sotto voce and in persona, like any good Chicago political operator.
