So he decided to make up for being too passive last time. That was predictable enough. In fact, everybody and his wife was predicting that Barack Obama would go on the offence for this one and that's exactly what he did. But there is an important difference between between being on the offensive and being offensive which his advisers seemed to have missed. Time and again, he interrupted both Romney and the chairman. He may not have sniggered and laughed out loud but there was definitely an air of the Joe Biden playbook here. It was a messier debate all
Comments: Good one by Ms. Daley, who was out with her remarks almost as soon as the debate was at its end.
0bama attacked like Rambo. But, with no ammo he was about as effective as Barney Fife. He seemed to have seen the questions in advance. He even needed CPR from the 'moderator' and didn't fool anyone with the same old lies we've heard for the last four years.
Romney clearly won the debate. He held his composure, and took the tag team attack in stride. He threw 0bama a few bombs, made his points, and did not give up any ground.
We win every debate each time our candidates remind Americans what the hard ecomomic truths are. The Lightbringer and his ilk want noone to hear that truth, at any costs, so we win because both Romney and Ryan have been relentless on bringing up the 800 lb gorilla that is our current existance.
Obama is incompetent and a liar. About 2% of the voters (according to polls) are calling themselves undecided. These are low information voters, obviously, and I am tired of the media catering to them like they matter. Unless you are a kool aid drinking liberal moonbat you can't possibly be undecided about this election and that will become clear on November 6.
Having read some of the replies below the article, I'm certainly glad that Brits can't vote in our elections. You'd think that, given the mess socialism has made in their country, they'd have a clue. As usual, government handouts trump reality and common sense.
I watched on and off, and finally muted the sound when the One spoke. Judging by his gestures I assumed he went into professorial mode which is so booooring.
He does not look well. Was the American electorate provided with his most recent health report? I know I say medical reports on Romney and Ryan, but none on O. Does he not have to comply with federal election mandates? Something is seriously wrong with this man's health. I do not think he is physically capable of being the Leader of the Free World. So depressing that we have a yellow Obama press that will not investigate a matter that is this crucial to the safety of our country.
Right #11. Call it intuition, ESP or eye-analysis-you are correct. His look is one of panic and anger the election is this close. He looks so evil, like there is no level he won't stoop to, nothing he won't put Americans through, to have his way. He's akin to the German soldier in "Saving Private Ryan"-inserting the dagger, yet in his version, telling us all to smile while he twists.
Obama is an ideologue-made his bed. His mission reminds of the old Floyd song, "Set the controls for the heart of the sun". That's what he has done, with his flawed theories and still thinks he deserves another term! ha! Don't think so.
Am I the only one that thought Romney made a mistake to ask Obama questions directly? It invited his lies and took away his time. At that point, it was clear Crowly wasnt going to let Romney get to his point. Many times the interruptions only proved to help Obama.
And I agree, if you can possibly still be undecided, you haven't been paying attention and you should stay home!
Did anyone besides me notice how "whinny" Obama sounded? When pressed his voice would go into a higher pitch. I kept expecting him to cover his ears and stomp his foot. I really wanted someone to ask him if he has ever balanced a checkbook or mowed his own lawn.
o's rebuttals were stylistically effective, but he couldn't defend his record, as Romney bullet-pointed him to an agonizing death. If Romney's favorables are +8, as Gallup claims, and women are warming to him, 0 is toast.
Janet Daley is one of the smarter people in the world, so this concise evaluation carries a lot of weight. She represents an educated, sophisticated mind and clear thinking. A clear eye.
Perhaps the most telling remark that Romney made was that the President was "great as a speaker" – that his vision for America was fine but that his policies did not work. There is the nub of it: what has been wrong with the Obama presidency is that it has been all rhetoric and very little effectual action. And what action there has been – on Obamacare – will discourage job creation and slow the the growth of the economy. The Republican contender only needed a draw to maintain his momentum but he got a win. Round two to Romney.
A town hall meeting with a New York crowd at a Long Island university. Oh, brother!
Obama came across as a nasty piece of work, dark and angry and lying like a pro. Same old, same old class warfare and empty promises. Scored well with DU types.
Romney related very well to those who asked questions and presented himself as pro-American, pro-business and very able to tackle our problems. He scored well with women and college crowd, I think.
Crowley's (never heard it pronounced crow-lee before) partisanship was obvious. She interrupted Romney a couple of times just as he was scoring major points. Her backup of Rose Garden terror word was waaaay over the line. During this Rose Garden back and forth Obama's ''Proceed Governor.'' with hate in his eyes was just plain obnoxious.
There are rumbles that Obama is planning a major strike in North Africa. He's placed special operations strike forces on standby. Fasten your seat belts.
Romney was terrific , as usual. His calm demeanor and mastery of all subjects reminded me of Reagan , one time he even sounded like him. Obama on the other hand seemed to yell his answers in an upper octave whine that I feared would make the dog bark. My wife had some neighbor ladies over to work on a project. I had the tv on alternating between the game and the debate. The women observed that Obama has mean eyes that fit his mean personality. One woman was fixated on his " creepy, ET hands ". Americans are busy and most of them don't have time to watch the news or keep up with political events. Debates expose them to actual candidates , not the caricatures created by the media . I think for some of these women , it was their first real exposure to both Romney and Obama. I was unsure of some of their political persuasions prior to last night, but, they left our house repulsed by the anger and behavior of Obama ( as one observed-he acts like he hasn't been president for the last 4 years ) and reassured by the presidential character of Romney. Romney also looked macho and strong and I really liked that he got tough with the cry baby. Crowley was awful , simply awful. She would not allow Romney to finish his points-getting another moronic question from the idiots was more important than allowing a future president to explain his plans.
To #15's comments: Was it me or did I see an earbud in "Jug Ears" right ear???? I mentioned it to my husband, but he dismissed it by saying that he could not be "coached" on these questions and that because he is the POTUS he needs to be in "contact" with security. Can we get pix of last night's debate by Breitbart's crew to see if I am right on my assumtion???
Sorry for the double post: I meant to say "assumption". To #15's comments: Was it me or did I see an earbud in "Jug Ears" right ear???? I mentioned it to my husband, but he dismissed it by saying that he could not be "coached" on these questions and that because he is the POTUS he needs to be in "contact" with security. Can we get pix of last night's debate by Breitbart's crew to see if I am right on my assumption???
One thing we saw last night is that Romney can be an alpha male. He established right out of the chute that he was not going to be bullied by Obama. That's something that I had my doubts about during the primaries.
I agree with others here, it seemed like Øbama have have been "prompted" by something this time. He wasn't stammering like he usually does when he doesn't have his teleprompter in front of him. Some kind of super-secret earpiece or new kind of eye-display that we can't see? We can all imagine Axlegrease fitting him with something to make it easier to cheat during the debate. I also agree that Øbama's voice sounded higher-pitched and squeaky. I thought he was buzzing from maybe 5 or 10 cups of coffee or maybe something illegal given to him by Axlegrease. He looks sickly lately.
obama keeps referring to Romney and his policies as if he, obama, is the challenger and Romney has been president the last four years. His side keeps insisting that Romney give details, yet we have no specifics from them on what they plan to do the next 4 years. We assume that obit will continue to destroy America, but most of his voters, the idiot class, don't know that. Those precious undecideds don't know and even they don't ask. obit has abandoned hope and change for Romney's specifics. If he can't give specifics, you must give me four mo' years.
I was happy to see the Luntz focus groups see all the wonderful potential in Romney after the debate; most of them voted for 0bama were sorely disappointed in him. Unlike the owners of "0bama phones," all these people who possess these FREE phones used them to Tweet they want to kill Romney, because they might lose their Food Stamps and Free Phones. How sick has this society become?
Barry Obama is nothing more than an angry black man who thinks he got a raw deal from the world of whitey and is fixated only on revenge. He hasn't been able to hide that side of himself for the past year when his many illegal actions and failures started to catch up with him.
He is of low quality lineage and his friends and companions are of like character (or lack thereof.) What a hateful, nasty human being. I hope the liberals are over their social experimentation for a while but that would be like flies getting over cowpies.
I love that Miss Daley called Crowley, "the chairman." Not that she is wrong, "chairman" is genderless. (just a fact of etymology, look it up if you don't believe me) But feminists like Crowley are ignorant and don't realize that, so I am amused that Miss Daley called Ms. Crowley "chairman." Cool.
Tag team is the right image. Romney alone. The Imposter partners with the so called host, can't call that one a hostess just on her ad manners alone. Mitt did okay considering two rehearsed against one. I was sure enough a two to one tag team.
i watched 30 seconds of it...i cant stand otard's voice or face...but any way...the part i saw was this....romney talking points, otard interrupting..and romney with "i am speaking, you will get your turn"..and you know who he sounded like? every father in the world who has to correct his child...this one more points to more people than we know...every father has had to do this to his children..or am i wrong?..i see this one statement as checkmate!!
There is no more potent symbol of statehood than military power. It is not surprising therefore that Eurocrats regard defence policy as a key element in their drive for a state called Europe, playing a role on the global stage. The forthcoming European Council (19/20 December), when heads of government meet, has long been trailered in Brussels as a "Defence Council" to take a great leap forward in the EU´s Common Security & Defence Policy (CSDP). Actually, the modest defence-related decisions have largely been taken by Ministers in recent weeks and Prime Ministers will spend most of their time on
People buying insurance plans through Obamacare´s online exchanges may not have full access to some of the nation´s top hospitals, it has been claimed. In a bid to cut costs, insurers selling cover on the new exchanges in states including New York, Texas and California will not offer patients access to two renowned cancer centers--Memorial Sloan Kettering in Manhattan and MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, according to The Financial Times. Access to Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, one of the top research and teaching hospitals, may also be limited, as the insurers attempt to steer customers away from hospitals or
A powerful storm that crept across the country dropped snow, freezing rain and sleet on the Mid-Atlantic region and headed northeast Sunday, turning NFL playing fields in Pennsylvania into winter wonderlands, dumping a foot of snow in Delaware and threatening a messy Monday commute in the northeast corridor. The storm forced the cancellation of thousands of flights across the U.S. and slowed traffic on roads, leading to a number of accidents, including a fatal crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Morgantown that led to a series of fender-benders involving 50 cars that stranded some motorists for up to seven hours.
Manhattan´s Chelsea neighborhood is home to art galleries, fashion stores, townhouses and now a new breed of cockroach that won´t die even if forced to live outside all winter. The High Line, a park that turned a dilapidated stretch of elevated railway in the neighborhood into one of New York´s newest tourist attractions, may have been responsible for bringing a new breed of cockroach to the city. Rutgers University insect biologists Jessica Ware and Dominic Evangelista said the species Periplaneta japonica is well documented in Asia but was never confirmed in the United States until now. The scientists, whose findings were published
Vladimir Putin has dissolved Russia´s biggest news agency RIA Novosti, ordering the creation of a new media conglomerate headed by an anchorman notorious for his anti-opposition and anti-gay views. The new company Rossiya Segodnya (Russia Today) will focus on "coverage abroad of Russian state policy and public life," the document published on the Kremlin website said. [Snip] The move appears as a push by the Kremlin to consolidate state media resources at a time of increasing online criticism of Mr Putin´s 13 years of rule and to take a proactive approach in shaping Russia´s image abroad.
Some patients are being forced to wait in ambulances outside hospitals for hours because accident and emergency departments are too busy to take them, according to research. In one case, a patient in Wales was made to wait more than six hours before being admitted, while another in England was delayed for more than five hours, the BBC found. NHS guidance recommends that patients should wait in ambulances for no longer than 15 minutes and delays of more than 30 minutes in England can lead to fines. Paramedics are only allowed to hand patients over to hospitals when staff there
Uniformed Romanian police officers have begun patrolling the streets of Paris to help fight a growing tide of criminality among their immigrant countrymen. In scenes which could soon be replicated in Britain, 20 officers have been introduced to help clamp down on Roma street gangs. It follows a 78 percent rise in the number of Romanians arrested in the France city over the past two years. In January, the UK is expected to see an influx of Romanians and Bulgarians arriving when EU labour restrictions are lifted. There have been warnings that they will include criminal gangs that often use
The question all week long was this: Who are you going to believe, an illegal alien or the president of the United States of America? Obviously, if it’s a president who once went by an alias, Barry Soetoro, you go with Uncle Omar, 100 percent, no questions asked. And so it was that the White House finally admitted to another, uh, misstatement — despite previous denials, Barack/Barry did sleep on his beloved Uncle Omar’s couch in Cambridge when he first moved here to attend Harvard Law School (speaking of which, we’re still waiting to see the president’s grades and his LSAT scores). But the
More young men in California rise in pitch at the end of their sentences when talking, new research shows. This process is known as "uptalk" or "valleygirl speak" and has in the past been associated with young females, typically from California or Australia. But now a team says that this way of speaking is becoming more frequent among men.The findings were presented at the Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in California. "We found use of uptalk in all of our speakers, despite their diverse backgrounds in socioeconomic status, ethnicity, bilingualism and gender," said Amanda Ritchart, a linguist at the University of
How do you get your arms around the catastrophe known as Obamacare? Is it even possible? At this point, I’m not sure it is. The list of individual disasters which threaten to ruin one-sixth of the U.S. economy and what has been, up until now, the best healthcare system in the world is exhaustive, and exhausting. The examples I will identify here barely scratch the surface. First but by no means foremost, we have the supposedly new and improved HealthCare.gov. Except it’s not, even the visible part. Stories still abound of people still failing to get in or to get through the enrollment
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a new five-year strategic plan to improve safety for elderly drivers and passengers. Although they are statistically among the safest on the road, the number of older drivers is increasing dramatically — and with it, that group´s numbers of injuries and deaths. Since 2003, the population of older adults, defined as age 65 and older, has increased by 20% and the number of licensed older drivers increased by 21% to 35 million in 2012, according to NHTSA. Last year, NHTSA reported that 5,560 people older than 65 died and 214,000 were injured
Barack Obama did not tell the whole story this autumn when he tried to make the case that Bashar al-Assad was responsible for the chemical weapons attack near Damascus on 21 August. In some instances, he omitted important intelligence, and in others he presented assumptions as facts. Most significant, he failed to acknowledge something known to the US intelligence community: that the Syrian army is not the only party in the country’s civil war with access to sarin, the nerve agent that a UN study concluded – without assessing responsibility – had been used in the rocket attack. In the months before the attack,
Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the hapless, goalpost-shifting so-called "architect" of Obamacare, told Fox News´ Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday that President Barack Obama´s promise "if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor" was absolutely true--with one important caveat: if you like your doctor, "you can pay for it." Wallace grilled Dr. Emanuel, challenging his false claims that California´s enrollment was keeping pace with the percentage of the young population necessary to keep the system afloat, and pointing out that the president´s promise on doctors would collapse once people lost their insurance or their
President Barack Obama’s Facebook page on Saturday posted a message honoring the dead from Pearl Harbor—accompanied by a picture of Obama descending the stairs next to the Pearl Harbor Memorial. The picture barely fits the name of the Arizona Memorial so it can frame Obama in the foreground. The post´s statement reads: Today, with solemn pride and reverence, let us remember those who fought and died at Pearl Harbor, acknowledge everyone who carried their legacy forward, and reaffirm our commitment to upholding the ideals for which they served. President Obama The Obama Administration´s current shipbuilding plan shrinks the size of
