Obama went aggressive –
and looked offensive

Telegraph [UK], by Janet Daley

Original Article

Posted By:Attercliffe, 10/17/2012 5:08:26 AM

So he decided to make up for being too passive last time. That was predictable enough. In fact, everybody and his wife was predicting that Barack Obama would go on the offence for this one and that's exactly what he did. But there is an important difference between between being on the offensive and being offensive which his advisers seemed to have missed. Time and again, he interrupted both Romney and the chairman. He may not have sniggered and laughed out loud but there was definitely an air of the Joe Biden playbook here. It was a messier debate all

Comments:
Good one by Ms. Daley, who was out with her remarks almost as soon as the debate was at its end.

0bama attacked like Rambo. But, with no ammo he was about as effective as Barney Fife. He seemed to have seen the questions in advance. He even needed CPR from the 'moderator' and didn't fool anyone with the same old lies we've heard for the last four years.

Romney clearly won the debate. He held his composure, and took the tag team attack in stride. He threw 0bama a few bombs, made his points, and did not give up any ground.

I thought obama's constant lying was disgraceful. Especially the one about drilling permits on federal land, easily debunked.

When these "pundits" grade debates, they should take points off for mendacious behaviour like this. Nobody would want their child to lie like this. Who wants a lying POTUS?

We win every debate each time our candidates remind Americans what the hard ecomomic truths are. The Lightbringer and his ilk want noone to hear that truth, at any costs, so we win because both Romney and Ryan have been relentless on bringing up the 800 lb gorilla that is our current existance.

Obama is incompetent and a liar. About 2% of the voters (according to polls) are calling themselves undecided. These are low information voters, obviously, and I am tired of the media catering to them like they matter. Unless you are a kool aid drinking liberal moonbat you can't possibly be undecided about this election and that will become clear on November 6.

Having read some of the replies below the article, I'm certainly glad that Brits can't vote in our elections. You'd think that, given the mess socialism has made in their country, they'd have a clue. As usual, government handouts trump reality and common sense.

obama went aggressive -- but -- he looked obnoxious....

President Romney looked in control -- with exception when crowley tackled him from the side/lines.

Remember when stephanopolous (sp?) helped obama when obama called himself a muslim? Ole steph blurred out "Christian" quickly....

WE know what WE get when the media is in control....

I watched on and off, and finally muted the sound when the One spoke. Judging by his gestures I assumed he went into professorial mode which is so booooring.

He does not look well. Was the American electorate provided with his most recent health report? I know I say medical reports on Romney and Ryan, but none on O. Does he not have to comply with federal election mandates? Something is seriously wrong with this man's health. I do not think he is physically capable of being the Leader of the Free World. So depressing that we have a yellow Obama press that will not investigate a matter that is this crucial to the safety of our country.

#6, they sound like visitors from the Guardian. Not all Britons are socialists. Perhaps you haven't noticed the right-leaning law-changes Cameron and his coalition government have been making lately.

Note: it's a coalition with the Lib-Dems. Thirteen years of straight Labour is a bit difficult to dig out. You see what a time we are having digging out Obama. after only four years

To see what real socialists are like, I recommend DemocraticUnderground.com. Their debate remarks today will be edifying. And they can vote in our elections.

The juxtaposition of Obama's radiant smile and his dark, piercing, evil eyes was really revealing.
He is desperate and on the ropes - Axe knows it.

Right #11. Call it intuition, ESP or eye-analysis-you are correct. His look is one of panic and anger the election is this close. He looks so evil, like there is no level he won't stoop to, nothing he won't put Americans through, to have his way. He's akin to the German soldier in "Saving Private Ryan"-inserting the dagger, yet in his version, telling us all to smile while he twists.

Obama is an ideologue-made his bed. His mission reminds of the old Floyd song, "Set the controls for the heart of the sun". That's what he has done, with his flawed theories and still thinks he deserves another term! ha! Don't think so.

Am I the only one that thought Romney made a mistake to ask Obama questions directly? It invited his lies and took away his time. At that point, it was clear Crowly wasnt going to let Romney get to his point. Many times the interruptions only proved to help Obama.

And I agree, if you can possibly still be undecided, you haven't been paying attention and you should stay home!

o's rebuttals were stylistically effective, but he couldn't defend his record, as Romney bullet-pointed him to an agonizing death. If Romney's favorables are +8, as Gallup claims, and women are warming to him, 0 is toast.

What struck me were the constant halts in the serpent's speech, as if he were indeed listening to some ear prompting.

And what is this business of Crowley's visiting the WH last Sunday? Is there a record? Breitbarters need to get on that story!

Despite all this, our admirable future President Mitt Romney won it going away.

Janet Daley is one of the smarter people in the world, so this concise evaluation carries a lot of weight. She represents an educated, sophisticated mind and clear thinking. A clear eye.

Perhaps the most telling remark that Romney made was that the President was "great as a speaker" – that his vision for America was fine but that his policies did not work. There is the nub of it: what has been wrong with the Obama presidency is that it has been all rhetoric and very little effectual action. And what action there has been – on Obamacare – will discourage job creation and slow the the growth of the economy. The Republican contender only needed a draw to maintain his momentum but he got a win. Round two to Romney.

A town hall meeting with a New York crowd at a Long Island university. Oh, brother!

Obama came across as a nasty piece of work, dark and angry and lying like a pro. Same old, same old class warfare and empty promises. Scored well with DU types.

Romney related very well to those who asked questions and presented himself as pro-American, pro-business and very able to tackle our problems. He scored well with women and college crowd, I think.

Crowley's (never heard it pronounced crow-lee before) partisanship was obvious. She interrupted Romney a couple of times just as he was scoring major points. Her backup of Rose Garden terror word was waaaay over the line. During this Rose Garden back and forth Obama's ''Proceed Governor.'' with hate in his eyes was just plain obnoxious.

There are rumbles that Obama is planning a major strike in North Africa. He's placed special operations strike forces on standby. Fasten your seat belts.

Romney was terrific , as usual.
His calm demeanor and mastery of all subjects reminded me of Reagan , one time he even sounded like him.
Obama on the other hand seemed to yell his answers
in an upper octave whine
that I feared would make the dog bark.
My wife had some neighbor ladies over to work on a project.
I had the tv on alternating between the game and the debate.
The women observed that Obama has mean eyes that fit his mean personality.
One woman was fixated on his " creepy, ET hands ".
Americans are busy and most of them don't have time to watch the news or keep up with political events.
Debates expose them to actual candidates , not the caricatures created by the media .
I think for some of these women , it was their first real exposure to both Romney and Obama.
I was unsure of some of their political persuasions prior to last night, but, they left our house repulsed by the anger
and behavior of Obama ( as one observed-he acts like he hasn't been president for the last 4 years )
and reassured by the presidential character of Romney.
Romney also looked macho and strong and I really liked that he
got tough with the cry baby.
Crowley was awful , simply awful.
She would not allow Romney to finish his points-getting another moronic question from the idiots was more important than
allowing a future president to explain his plans.

Not happening, Lanny! Obama already established himself as sullen and nasty and the public heard more of the same last night.

I agree with others here, it seemed like Øbama have have been "prompted" by something this time. He wasn't stammering like he usually does when he doesn't have his teleprompter in front of him. Some kind of super-secret earpiece or new kind of eye-display that we can't see? We can all imagine Axlegrease fitting him with something to make it easier to cheat during the debate. I also agree that Øbama's voice sounded higher-pitched and squeaky. I thought he was buzzing from maybe 5 or 10 cups of coffee or maybe something illegal given to him by Axlegrease. He looks sickly lately.

obama keeps referring to Romney and his policies as if he, obama, is the challenger and Romney has been president the last four years. His side keeps insisting that Romney give details, yet we have no specifics from them on what they plan to do the next 4 years. We assume that obit will continue to destroy America, but most of his voters, the idiot class, don't know that. Those precious undecideds don't know and even they don't ask. obit has abandoned hope and change for Romney's specifics. If he can't give specifics, you must give me four mo' years.

I saw real anger and hate in his eyes for Romney a couple of times. zippy's few attempts to be animated were so thin and baseless to the particular moment of the debate.

He cannot hold his own against Romney with his lack of a record.

Romney had the stage presence and the facts. zippy was trying to defend a windmill of an administration - empty air, empty suit, empty chair.

Barry Obama is nothing more than an angry black man who thinks he got a raw deal from the world of whitey and is fixated only on revenge. He hasn't been able to hide that side of himself for the past year when his many illegal actions and failures started to catch up with him.

He is of low quality lineage and his friends and companions are of like character (or lack thereof.) What a hateful, nasty human being. I hope the liberals are over their social experimentation for a while but that would be like flies getting over cowpies.

Bottom line, as the old Marine in the Frank Luntz focus group on Fox New Channel said last night following the debate, "Obama has been bullsh-ting the American people".

Obviously from the polls and the focus groups immediate responses following the debate, Obama's bullsh-iting is now catching up to him.

I blogged yesterday about this "segregated" Muslim event organised by the Islamic Society of the University of East London, due to happen tonight at UEL´s main lecture theatre on its Docklands campus. Much to my surprise, UEL immediately banned it from their campus. [Snip] UEL should be congratulated over this. As I pointed out, it has an "equality and diversity" policy. It didn´t know that the dinner organised by the Islamic society--which was to include a speech by the controversial anti-gay preacher Murtaza Khan--was segregated by sex and was providing a platform for an extremist. The university´s decision to pull the

Tony Blair´s religious charity has links to an Islamic extremist group being investigated by MI5 and MI6, it has been alleged. [Snip] The organisation has been declared a terrorist group in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and could be banned in Britain, despite insisting they do not have links to extremist factions. The Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Watch, which has been looking into the group for 13 years, revealed that Dr Ismail Khudr Al-Shatti, an adviser to the Kuwaiti government and a member of Mr Blair’s advisory council, is a leading member of the Kuwaiti branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. the

Deep in the flat and featureless landscape of eastern Ukraine, it is all too possible that the outline of World War III is taking shape. Whipped up by the Kremlin propaganda machine and led by Russian military intelligence, armed men are erecting road blocks, storming police stations and ripping down the country’s flag. They are demolishing not just their own country — bankrupt, ill-run and beleaguered — but also the post-war order that has kept most of Europe and us, here in Britain, safe and free for decades. Vladimir Putin is striking at the heart of the West.

Why are the US authorities trying to extradite and imprison arguably the one man in the world with the skills and influence to bring peace, stability, and prosperity to fractured Ukraine? This week I flew to Vienna, Austria, to find out in a world exclusive interview with Ukraine´s Dmitry Firtash, the billionaire industrialist, philanthropist, and political fixer who is striving desperately to help his country forge an independent future free from the bullying of Russia and the meddling of the West in next month´s scheduled elections. And his biggest obstacle? According to Firtash, it´s Barack Obama.

Enjoying a free lunch? No such

The Internal Revenue Service is considering a bold move to label perks like free lunch given to workers by companies as taxable. The agency wonders if freebies like haircuts and gym memberships are a way to compensate the highly skilled rather than just a way to jumpstart productivity. After all, argue proponents of such a tax, workers at Silicon Valley firms like Google and Facebook receive free meals from famously fancy in-house eateries every day. Some companies even go a step further by offering freebies like haircuts, car services, and child care. Typical workaday folks can expect to pay for all

After presenting at the Academy Awards this year, Kim Novak didn’t want to leave her house. The Hitchcock screen siren, 81, was too humiliated to venture from her home near the Rogue River in Oregon. She read the cruel posts and Internet snark about her appearance, and it was just too much. “It got to me like it gets kids and teenagers,” she told the Associated Press. The “Vertigo” actress, considered one of the great beauties in her day, posted a note on her Facebook wall Thursday, acknowledging that she’d gotten fat injections in her face and addressing her halted

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?
