Don't let the title fool you. This is an Obama-loving screed against (Elmer Fudd voice) "Bad ol' GOP". According to this flawed article, it was Obama who sought bi-partisan participation and the GOP who refused to come to the table.

....What a joke!
What Noam failed to mention is that government will make their employers' plans too expensive to maintain, thereby forcing those employers into government-manipulated insurance coverage.
I wonder whether Noam is too dumb to investigate all this or simply on the Obama payroll.

One of the things that always frosts me in popular defenses of Obamacare is the rule that insurance companies cannot reject anyone for pre-existing conditions. Most people seem to consider this an absolutely wonderful thing never mind that this would drive every single insurance company out of business if Obamacare did not also make it mandatory that every single person buy (perhaps with a government subsidy) government approved and specified health insurance. What nobody seems to recognize or comment upon is that this amounts to "from each according to his ability and to each according to his medical needs." That same edict can be applied to anything else say housing, transportation or food. It is of course Marx's main communist edict and would, if more widely applied, convert the US from a free market capitalist system which has produced incredible wealth to a communist system that has produced much death. It is not to be praised.

The House voted to repeal ObamaCare on Thursday for the third time since Republicans took over the chamber in 2011. What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”
