| I HAD expected to keep mum about my problem with Michelle Obama until after the election, but my frustration has gotten the better of me. I can contain it no longer. I refer not to her politics, but to her arms — her bare, toned, elegant arms. Enough! The first lady has made it unacceptable for women to appear in public with covered arms. However innocently, however unwittingly, that is what she has done. Those bare, toned, elegant arms of hers have spawned an epidemic of sleevelessness, exposing arms, arms, arms, and not all of them toned and elegant.
|
Comments: Barf alert. Michelle 0bama is a fashion illiterate and too stupid to know that a lady wears long sleeves in fall/winter . . . . one of the many traits of her tasteless wardrobe habits. Yet, rather than point out her lack of taste, the PC fashion world continues to cover for her and obsess over her arms. Cut me a break.

The vapidity of some female writers is staggering:
The first lady has made it unacceptable for women to appear in public with covered arms.
"..unacceptable" to whom? To those who care about what M wears? To those who care about fashion? By what other people deem important such as bare/covered arms?
It wouldn't occur to me in a million years to give a rip what is fashionable or not, especially as conveyed by what some dictatorial First Lady wears or doesn't wear. Geez...
How did Americans get so shallow?

There is nothing attractive about a middle-aged woman's armpits. Appropriate dress means business attire for the first woman. Her clothes are ill-fitting and ugly.

Therein lies the problem. Fawning over the appearance of women in Hollywood or fashion magazines is okay - that's what they are there for. Letting appearance dictate how one votes is petty, absurd and downright idiotic.

I'm not impressed by those never ending bare arms. An outfit here or there is OK, but she almost always bares her arms. For what is reported what she spends on clothes, the dressmaker could certainly give her the complete dress, arms coverings included. And who wears sleeveless dressed as the weather begins to cool off? Well, the Fox babes do and they show a lot more! Whatever happened to proper work place attire?

Mikhail Shareef Muhammad of North Myrtle Avenue remained held on $200,000 bail Wednesday, according to jail records. Police were called just after 2 p.m. by a friend of Muhammad’s wife, Claudia Lizeth, who said he wasn’t willing to let her leave and was afraid for her life, according to the arrest report. Officers went to Muhammad’s home, where Lizeth mouthed, “Help me” to a sergeant.

Michelle Obama visited the slave quarters at Decatur House — a red-brick structure that sits in the shadow of the White House — that once housed the black men and women who served 19th century politicians, military and business leaders who lived in the property. The first lady, who is the nation’s only first lady to have descended from people held in slavery, made the stop as part of an announcement that the historic Decatur House

BUFFALO — A western New York man has pleaded guilty to filing more than 100 tax returns under the names of people who had recently died. The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Buffalo says 42-year-old John Berry Jr. of Dunkirk pleaded guilty Tuesday to making a false claim against the United States. Prosecutors say he filed 122 false income tax returns in 2008 and 2009 seeking refunds totaling $218,000. Authorities say more than $92,000 was deposited directly into his bank account. Berry faces up to five years in prison when he’s sentenced in August.

Two Republican governors are urging President Barack Obama to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the Internal Revenue Service´s admission that it targeted conservative political groups. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker call the allegations "Big Brother come to life." They want a special prosecutor to find out if any laws were broken and say Obama should fire any IRS employees responsible for the situation. The IRS has apologized for what it calls "inappropriate" targeting of conservative political groups. The agency targeted groups during the 2010 congressional elections and the 2012 presidential election.

In recent weeks, scandal after scandal has rocked Barack Obama’s administration. His presidency might be imperiled. Or it might not be.(snip)Doubtless, Obama did not want for any of these scandals to come to light. Now that they’ve arisen, though, they can be exploited to depict himself as a Washington outsider and his Republican nemeses as “the establishment” that has vowed to destroy him. Potentially, this strategy trades off short-term loss for long-term gain. Again, Alinsky is instructive here: “If by losing in a certain action” the organizer “can get more members than by winning

America should end its intervention in Syria or shift its support to President Bashir Assad. Iraq-based al Qaeda militants now control the rebellion. A shadowy terrorist named Baghdadi has moved from Iraq to northern Syria to control al Qaeda’s operations there. He is a grotesque savage, determined to compel acceptance of radical Islam through religious courts and executions.(snip)U.S. military intervention ended badly in Libya. Our ambassador was killed, and 20,000 Libyan anti-aircraft missiles went missing; they may still be in rebel hands. If al Qaeda topples Syria, they will capture large stocks of chemical weapons

The Obama administration has an enemies list, and John Dodson was on it. The special agent for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) infuriated his superiors by alerting Congress and everyone else about the government’s gunrunning scheme called Fast and Furious. He had to pay for his act of good citizenship. The Justice Department’s inspector general concluded Monday that a high-ranking political appointee destroyed Mr. Dodson’s credibility and ruined a career. The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

Is the worm turning against Barack Obama? After four-plus years of being given the benefit of the doubt by the bulk of the US media, the President now suddenly feels more vulnerable. Today both the New York Times and the Washington Post have run prominent and angry editorials and columns slamming the administration for its attempt to criminalise a Fox News reporter James Rosen for working a State Department source to obtain a story. The "Rosen Affair"--as it is now known--is poisoning the well in Washington at an alarming rate for Mr Obama, with an indignant White House press corps
