If it doesn't pass the smell test, it is probably not true. We keep being told that Obama is leading, that the race is close at best, that voters have accepted a 'new normal' for unemployment, that the economy is improving, that the price of gas means nothing, that Romney is making fatal gaffes. We were even told that the 9/11 attacks which left our ambassador to Libya dead made Romney look bad. Every week is a good week for Obama and a bad week for Romney according to the media.
In January 1991, during Desert Storm, "Baghdad Bob" told all the American soldiers that Tom Cruise and Homer Simpson were back home having their way with our wives... I give the same credence to that report as I do that Obama, despite the dire state of the country, is ahead in the polls
Paging First Amendment lawyers. Despite Constitutional protections, if the press were really collaborating to distort the news in favor of swinging the election, wouldn't this constitute deliberate election fraud? Conspiracy? Racketeering? If you've got expertise in this area, I'd really like to know.
The MSM are slitting their own throats, destroying what little credibility they might have once had, and can no longer be considered "main stream." Main stream news now comes from talk radio and the internet.
I am with you #4. The first amendment presupposes a fair and balanced press, not an industry that has mostly chosen sides and attempt to sway elections. They are abusing their privilages to the point of criminal conspiracy.
Plenty of businesses have been found in violation of non-discrimination laws on flimsier statistical evidence of bias.
We have all seen the history book pictures of the liberation of Paris in WWII. The French public chased down the local prostitutes who had openly collaborated with the German occupying forces and shaved their heads in the streets.
If We The People are successful in ousting the progressive/socialist forces among us, we should conduct a symbolic head-shaving of the presstitutes who have openly collaborated with them.
We should pointedly drop subscriptions to the most flagrant newspapers and similarly quit watching the LSM television networks.
If they want to murder freedom there is no reason the victims should pay for their ammunition.
Agreed all....all the polling and feel good stories (especially recently) have seemed to be part of battle space preparation for the coming lawsuits (and more). The left is going to do "Florida 2000" times 10, all over the country. If they can create enough doubt and turmoil (with the help of the press), they can attempt to throw the results into question. Creating what they do best, another manufactured crisis. ...broken glass is right, they can't steal it if it ain't close...
#10 Most conservatives I know dropped subscriptions to liberal newspapers and magazines years ago. We avoid movies with the worst "star" liberals and I will boycott products when they endorse liberal causes. I realized years ago living in California, the only vote I have, is with my pocketbook.
I'm in agreement with those who think that the bogus polls are in part a pretext to claim fraud after Zero loses. If the Resident doesn't achieve a victory approximately as large as his in-the-tank pollsters are claiming, then something is rotten in Denmark. Of course, the Legacy Media and their pet polling branches are astonishingly pure in their allegiance to the Left (which is the Democratic Party). And what is being attempted here is definitely psyops. To be sure, getting our own "conservative" pundits to accept, uncritically, the results of these slanted polls is disheartening. So I am tuning them out until this mess comes to a merciful conclusion on November 6. As horrible as the economy has been, I don't see how Obama could be ahead in any state that's not already solidly Democrat.
Besides, Romney has been preparing to launch an ad blitz at the right time. I would imagine that time is near. Be of good cheer.
All: The American press has been playing politics as long as the USA has been around, if not longer. Know your history. Present day political press accounts are nothing when compared to the mid to late 1800's. The Hearst name should also ring a bell. Nothing new here really.
The big problem is the gullibility of the public, lack of real education and critical thinking skills, along with the broadly brushed welfare queens (and princes).
Or someone besides Lucianne, Drudge and the Blaze could compete with them. At least come prepared to interviews that will surely stress the latest DNC talking points. Every non communist should be using their network time as teachable moments. Then will someone get a clue and launch a counterpoint? IF there was a traditional based channel it would be easy to have a show that just plays all the network headlines that they felt were important when Bush was President. You could have Matt Lauer crying about high gas prices... at $2.00. Or David Gregory upset about the latest unemployment numbers... 6%. Hey, if a half wit like Jon Stewart can do it, literally anyone can.
Agree with No. 15. Recently I heard from my lib brother. We were talking about the recent midwest heat-wave & he was asking about family members that he knows have been struggling with long-term unemployment. Not really trying to make a campaign talking point, I told him that mid-summer they had to turn off all AC because it was unaffordable. He didn't say anything for a long moment & I think it really hit home with him that many people that he knows personally are suffering. I know that he would never vote for a Republican, but I could sense by his pause that he is having second thoughts about BO's Robin Hood economy. He might just stay home & not vote.
It isn´t my intention to compare and contrast the performances of Julie Andrews and Carrie Underwood, both of whom sang the lead role of Maria in The Sound of Music. (snip) The Sound of Music reveals the culture shock that typified the sixties. During that time there was a titanic wrestling match between traditional America and radical America. For the time being, it appears the radical version of our country has prevailed. I watched both the staged and on-screen versions. I honestly felt I may as well have been watching a musical about medieval England. The story seemed as far removed
The political collapse of Barack Obama continues apace, with his own allies in the Democratic Party starting to give up on him. Now comes news that Obamacare supporters outside the party have decided to take matters in their own hands, rather than rely on the White House to sell Obamacare. Noam N. Levey and Kathleen Hennessey of the Los Angeles Times report: As supporters of the Affordable Care Act brace for new headaches next year, many have concluded they cannot count on the Obama administration, whose efforts to explain and promote the law are increasingly viewed as poorly planned, unreliable and
The old media won´t tell you so, but President Obama is facing a revolt from within his own political party. It was bound to happen once the dimensions of the ObamaCare disaster started to become obvious. Yesterday, I pointed out that Charles Rangel is an early indicator of the discontent bubbling beneath the surface, and that he is freer to speak than non-black Democrats. But today we have another leading indicator. (snip)Rosslyn Smith points out: "If Obama has lost Gergen, he´s lost the entire DC establishment. Gergen is almost the perfect indicator of the conventional wisdom inside the beltway.
MSNBC is the gift that keeps on giving, serving up propaganda intended to benefit the far left, but which in its absurdity repels people grounded in reality. Now, one of its hosts, Melissa Harris-Perry, already familiar to AT readers for her theater of the absurd political performance art, has played a race card so bizarre that it self-discredits. (snip) "I want to talk today about a controversial word. It´s a word that has been with us for years. And like it or not, it´s indelibly printed in the pages of American history. A word that was originally intended as a
Like communism, the collapse of the Obama Administration agenda is inevitable, not solely as a result of its many flawed policies, but because it lacks an ethical dimension in regard to individual rights, justifiable criteria for its use of state coercion and, in particular, a respect for the truth. Stated simply, Obama lies because the true objectives of his fundamental transformation of the United States are incompatible with American democracy and tradition. (snip) The arrogance and mendacity of the Obama White House is directly proportional to misplaced political loyalty and a submissive and willfully blind press.
By now, the news has spread online of the IRS audit notices sent to two Obamacare whistleblowers. On November 25th, cancer victim Bill Elliott and C. Steven Tucker were informed of the ordeal each was to face. Elliott has been waging a pitched battle with cancer. Tucker is the insurance agent and healthcare freedom activist who informed him that the canceling of his insurance, wrought by the Obama administration for the sake pushing citizens into Obamacare, was illegal. Tucker reached out immediately after Elliott appeared on Fox News´ The Kelly File, Nov. 7th, and Elliott´s insurance was hastily reinstated.
I claim no special insider knowledge of the Democratic Party´s inner workings, but still I am rather certain that discontent with President Obama is bubbling beneath the veneer of public unity behind the Nation´s First Black President. (snip) They´re two of the most powerful African-American politicians in the land. And by most accounts, President Obama and Rep. Charles Rangel hate each other. The most recently revealed salvo in their war of words - Obama´s assertion that Rangel is a "hack," according to the political tome "Double Down" - is just one element of a long-dysfunctional relationship.
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
The Obama State Department has finally released a second round of photos revealing the harrowing devastation wrought by a terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. The new photographs depict rampant damage to the consulate. They show charred walls, smoldering fires, Arabic graffiti defacing exterior walls, and scattered debris throughout. The extent of the damage would lead any reasonably serious person to conclude that this was a cold, calculated attack, carefully coordinated to mark the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. Unfortunately for the American people, the Obama-Clinton-Rice cabal that led to the Benghazi cover-up was
A “presidential selfie” featuring President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service began making the rounds this morning, but it’s the person not included in the frame who caught everyone’s attention: As anyone with two eyes and a Twitter account has noticed, Michelle Obama does not appear amused. Of course, though a picture says a thousand words, not all of those words are necessarily true. FLOTUS might not have even known the photo was taking place. Or she could disapprove of funeral selfies. Either way.
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
Just how much do many Hollywood liberals hate conservatives? In an interview with Playboy, Ben Affleck said, "When I watch a guy [on film] I know is a big Republican, part of me thinks, I probably wouldn’t like this person if I met him": PLAYBOY: You developed a political profile campaigning for presidential candidates Al Gore, John Kerry and Barack Obama. How did that come about? AFFLECK: I grew up in a house with a mother who was a teacher and a Freedom Rider—very left-wing Democrats living in a heterogeneous working-class neighborhood. I picked up a lot of those values there, and I
MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry opened her program over the weekend with a commentary about the Affordable Care Act’s colloquial moniker: “Obamacare.” She said that the word was originally created as a “derogatory term,” designed by white men as a way to delegitimize President Barack Obama and his achievement. However, she said that the term will soon be synonymous with all of Obama’s accomplishments and she urged her audience to use the term with pride. “I want to talk today about a controversial word. It’s a word that has been with us for years, and like it or not, it’s indelibly
President Obama, former president George W. Bush and their wives departed Washington Monday morning on Air Force One on their way to a memorial service in South Africa for Nelson Mandela. The president and first lady Michelle Obama are being accompanied by Mr. Bush, former first lady Laura Bush and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton on the flight to Johannesburg. A four-hour memorial service will be held on Tuesday for South Africa’s first black president. Mr. Mandela, the anti-apartheid revolutionary, died on Thursday at age 95. Former President Bill Clinton and daughter Chelsea are traveling separately to South Africa. Former President
