House Speaker Paul D. Ryan said Tuesday that the entire U.S. House will now face mandatory training to avoid sexual harassment and discrimination, moving to address the growing national scandal over behavior ranging from the boorish to the criminal. His comments came hours after a House committee held a hearing on harassment. Mr. Ryan said the House will now have a policy of mandatory training for every lawmaker and every staffer. “Our goal is not only to raise awareness, but also make abundantly clear that harassment in any form has no place in this institution,” he said.

In assessing the reliability of the Washington Post´s allegations against Judge Roy Moore, it is fair to ask whether the Post or its reporters have any skin in the game. That is, will they suffer significantly if the story turns out to be false? The answer is "no." The story is a free shot. If it succeeds in destroying Moore, the Post will be rewarded by its inside-the-Beltway significant others of both parties. If the story goes down in flames, then those S.O.s, who understand perfectly that the Post is a partisan warrior, will write it off as a good try

The most tiresome cliché of the climatistas is that “97 percent of scientists ‘believe’ in human caused climate change,” though I am always grateful for how they used the term “believe,” since the whole matter has taken on the attributes of religious commitment, if not fanaticism in many cases. The backup for this refrain is exceedingly weak. One study purporting to establish the “97 percent” consensus figure, from John Cook of the University of Queensland in Australia, does no such thing, which is obvious from reading just the abstract. Hawkeye Pierce on M*A*S*H, is currently running the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science at Stony Brook University. He was asked at a recent D.C. event to identify ways that scientists could better communicate the effects of climate change to the American public. Washington - U.S. lawmakers may have to pass another stop-gap spending bill in order to keep the federal government operating Dec. 8 when existing money runs out, U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan told reporters on Tuesday. Asked about the timing of the budget process and the measure now in place to fund government operations through early December at last year’s levels, Ryan told a news conference, “We might need a little bit more time to give the appropriators time to write their bill” for fiscal 2018 spending that would extend through next Sept. 30. Famed engineer Marc Isambard Brunel lost a bid to design the US Capitol Building in Washington, DC, 224 years ago. Now, his design has been revealed after being tucked away in a large album in the Brunel family archive for more than 150 years. The drawing is tipped to sell at the auction in London on Wednesday for $19,600 (£15,000). Brunel, who went on to design the Thames Tunnel in London and was the father of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, submitted his plans to a committee which was appointed to choose the design for the Capitol Hill building in 1793. Former vice president Biden, recall, has a long history of groping women, touching them inappropriately in public, making them obviously uncomfortable, as some of these photos show. Biden is in line as a top Democratic Party contender for the presidency, and nobody´s saying a thing about this. Substantially worse than Biden is Democratic senator Bob Menendez, now on trial in New Jersey for corruption. He´s been accused of having a penchant for
