LYNN, Mass.—Among the kitchen table issues dividing American households, perhaps none is as sticky as the one cropping up yet again this Thanksgiving: whether or not to put Fluff on the sweet-potato casserole. For aficionados, the controversy over slathering Marshmallow Fluff across the naturally sweet root vegetable ranks right up there with homemade or store-bought-in-a-can cranberry sauce. And how Americans answer the question is critical to Durkee-Mower Inc., the family-owned company that has been making Fluff, a spreadable marshmallow cream, since 1920.

Bias: It´s hard to see how press coverage of President Obama´s re-election bid could have gotten any more biased, but a new report shows the media managed to outdo themselves the week before voters went to the polls. The Pew Research Center´s latest analysis puts hard numbers against the claim that the press went out of its way to get Obama re-elected. According to the report, after months of positive press, "Obama´s coverage improved dramatically" in the crucial final week of the campaign.

How the left-wing Freak Show is gearing up for ’16, keying off of Marco Rubio’s recent remarks about the age of Earth, from “Morning Joe”: There’s one area where Democrats are really far ahead of Republicans right now. Science and technology, no. It’s doing this thing that Democrats failed to do in 2000, to stop George W. Bush, which is really, really early on using the left-wing Freak Show to define anyone who’s thinking of running for President, as quickly as possible, in negative terms on Twitter, on cable, on the Internet.

MUMBAI, India -- India executed the lone surviving gunman from the 2008 Mumbai terror attack early Wednesday, four years after Pakistani gunmen blazed through India´s financial capital, killing 166 people and throwing relations between the nuclear-armed neighbors into a tailspin. Mohammed Ajmal Kasab, a Pakistani citizen, was hung in secrecy at a jail in Pune, a city near Mumbai, after Indian President Pranab Mukherjee rejected his plea for clemency. News of the execution was widely cheered in India, with political parties organizing public celebrations and some people setting off firecrackers. But for those

As TV networks began to call the race for President Obama in the 2012 general election earlier this month, Karl Rove fumbled with his white board insisting the race wasn´t over and that the votes from vital Ohio counties had not yet been fully tallied. A glimmer of hope that Mitt Romney could snatch victory from the jaws of certain defeat remained visible through the squinting lens of Rove´s roseate stubbornness. As his recount was underway last weekend in Florida, Congressman Allen West basked in the glow of adulation

Barack Obama, the Uniter, is finally coming clean – he is admitting he sees Americans not as a group striving for commonality in American values, but an amalgam of separate constituencies proud to claim their separate identities. Obama is asking his supporters to complete a survey on his website in which they check off which of 22 “constituency groups” they identify with. Oh, by the way, if you’re a white man, don’t apply - there are no groups listed as “whites’ or “men.” Obama isn’t interested in appealing to you. There are groups for women, African-Americans, Arab-Americans, Latinos, Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgender, Educators

During the presidential campaign I served as a lowly foot soldier for Romney. In the battleground of Northern Virginia I knocked on doors, made telephone calls, handed out literature. Election Day I participated in the fiasco named Project ORCA. Gripe 1. ORCA sounded great. In real time GOP poll watchers would inform Romney headquarters who had voted in a precinct—and who had not. As the day wore on HQ would contact the laggards and urge they get to the polls. Content added by staff

A grumpy looking cat has become an internet star with legions of adoring fans after pictures posted online by her owners went viral. “Tard”, short for Tardar (Tartar) Sauce, belongs to proud Arizona resident Tabatha Bundesen, who has been left amazed by her cat´s ever-growing online stardom. The less-than-impressed-looking snowshoe puss became an online legend after her owner’s brother uploaded a picture on user-generated news site Reddit, where the image was incredibly upvoted more than 25,300 times within 48 hours. Now, fans of the 9-month old have documented the feline´s fury by creating Photoshopped parodies of the sourpuss, with many

An explosion hit a public bus in the heart of Tel Aviv today, wounding at least 10 people. The blast shattered windows on the bus, which was driving on a street that runs alongside Israel´s defence headquarters. Israel´s ambulance service said three of the wounded were in a moderate-to-serious condition. Police are clearing the area, and early reports suggest it appears there was a second bomb that was not detonated. ´A bomb exploded on a bus in central Tel Aviv. This was a terrorist attack. Most of the injured suffered only mild injuries," said Ofir Gendelman, a spokesman for Prime

I know most people would like to forget about the election, but as someone who supported Mitt Romney throughout the primary campaign -- taking a lot of flak from Spectator readers in the process -- I would like to defend his effort and make a few comments about the future of the Republican Party. First of all, Romney ran a damned good race. He was up in the polls by as much as 7 points (Gallup) going into the last week. Where he got sandbagged was Hurricane Sandy. The storm captured the nation´s attention

We gave Obama credit for his initial reaction to the conflict between Israel and Hamas, namely that Israel “has the right to defend itself” against attack and that the Israelis will make their own decisions about their “military tactics and operations.” We recognized, however, that Obama would likely back away from this line if the conflict dragged on for an extended period of time. As it turned out, Obama reversed himself almost immediately. The Washington Post says as much in this report called “With Hillary Clinton’s dash to Middle East, Obama signals a shift in his approach.”

HuffPost Live host/producer Ahmed Shihab-Eldin is not the only Huffington Post employee pushing anti-Israel propaganda for the leftist website founded seven years ago by Arianna Huffington. On the other side of the Atlantic, Mehdi Hasan, the political director of the Huffington Post UK, is apparently up to the task as well. A day after Israel finally decided to respond to a barrage of Palestinian rocket attacks, Hasan published a screed titled “Ten Things You Need to Know About Gaza.” It is easily debunked with facts, courtesy of the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America (CAMERA).

Life without electrical power, as the victims of Hurricane Sandy can attest, is inconvenient, uncomfortable and often boring. For the people who repair Sandy´s damage, however, it can be lethal. I know, because I grew up in a household where the breadwinner worked for a power company. After flying 32 missions over Europe as a ball-turret-gunner on a B17, my dad returned home in 1946 and took a job with Ameren Electric, based in St. Louis. As a kid, if I was still awake when he returned home from a trouble call, I would sit at the kitchen table

Planned Parenthood is patting itself on the back over President Obama’s victory earlier this month. According to Dawn Laguens, the abortion provider’s executive vice president, women were scared away from Mitt Romney with the threat that he would take away their birth control. Other, seemingly more important issues, such as the fragile state of the economy, record joblessness among women and the foreign-policy debacle in Benghazi, Libya, took a back seat for the 56 percent of female voters who opted for Mr. Obama, intent on securing their “reproductive rights” against a purported Republican onslaught.

Quelle surprise! Ron Paul has joined in with the secession talk. Yesterday, he wrote on his House website: Secession is a deeply American principle. This country was born through secession. Some felt it was treasonous to secede from England, but those ‘traitors’ became our country’s greatest patriots. I’m not necessarily opposed to the idea that secession is a “deeply American principle.” This is a revolutionary nation, after all. But let’s understand that — practically speaking at least — “secession” and “revolution” are now to all intents and purposes the same thing. For better or for worse,

NASA´s Curiosity rover has another, even bigger, apparently history-making discovery that might just change everything about the universe as we know it — but they aren´t telling anyone what it is, exactly, until scientists can be absolutely sure it´s not a dud. Thanksgiving nerd speculation, of course, is go for launch. John Grotzinger, the principal investigator for the mission, tells NPR´s Joe Palca in an interview that aired today that his team has found something really, really cool on Mars with Curiosity´s SAM soil-collecting device: "This data is gonna be one for the history books.

Tightly spun accounts of when and what the president and top administration officials knew and did prior to, during and following the deadly 9/11 terrorist attack on our Benghazi consulate are unraveling at warp speed. While the mainstream media has previously ignored the entire debacle, don’t necessarily expect that selective indifference to continue. Now, with the election over and their candidate victorious, the seductive allure of key party sex and security scandals are already becoming irresistible news features.

Paula Broadwell, the biographer whose affair with former CIA chief David Petraeus led to his resignation, has hired a high-profile Washington communications firm, Glover Park Group, to represent her, a source familiar with the arrangement said on Monday. Glover Park´s consultants include well-known names such as Dee Dee Myers, who served as White House press secretary during President Bill Clinton´s first term. WPP Plc, the world´s largest advertising group, bought Glover Park last year. Broadwell´s hiring of Glover Park was reported by AdAge. The firm did not respond to requests for comment.
