Best and worst moments
from Grammy Awards 2019

After a one-year stint in New York, the Recording Academy returned to Los Angeles’ Staples Center for Grammys 2019, the 61st annual edition of music’s biggest night. Still, the Big Apple was represented by New York’s own Alicia Keys helming the festivities as the first female host in 14 years. And the big winner was country-pop star Kacey Musgraves, who brought home four gramophones, including Album of the Year for “Golden Hour.” But as always, it was mostly about the performances. (Yes, Janelle! No, Jennifer!) From moving acceptance speeches to rousing live sets,

Wonder why men send photos of their

She´s sitting in a crowded subway car, zipping through email messages on her phone and minding her own business when it appears: a photo of a man´s penis. Sexting is so commonplace that 88% of participants -- men and women -- in a 2015 study said they´d done it. So common that research psychologist Peggy Drexler wonders if there´s even any stigma attached to it. So common that, as we found out last week, even someone as high-profile as Amazon founder Jeff Bezos said that an outlet threatened to release compromising photos of him. If it´s done in a consensual relationship,

Donald Trump in 2016 did not only run against the planted rumors of the fake Steele dossier, 90 percent negative media coverage, his own boisterous past, and the “Access Hollywood” tape. He also was campaigning against Hillary Clinton—and the nation’s quarter-century weariness with the Clinton scandals, crimes, money-grubbing, and hypocrisies. For a quarter of the country, independents especially, a vote for Trump was not a referendum on a Democrat or Republican, or even love or hate for Donald Trump, but rather reflected a “Never Hillary” desire to be done with the very name Clinton.

The world’s insects are hurtling down the path to extinction, threatening a “catastrophic collapse of nature’s ecosystems”, according to the first global scientific review. More than 40% of insect species are declining and a third are endangered, the analysis found. The rate of extinction is eight times faster than that of mammals, birds and reptiles. The total mass of insects is falling by a precipitous 2.5% a year, according to the best data available, suggesting they could vanish within a century. The planet is at the start of a sixth mass extinction in its history, with huge losses already

At least one newspaper says it has dropped the syndicated cartoon "Non Sequitur" after a vulgar message to President Donald Trump appeared in it. The Butler Eagle in Pennsylvania reported Sunday that the "shot at President Donald Trump" will cost cartoonist Wiley Miller "his place in the Eagle´s Sunday comics." A scribbled message in one panel of that day´s cartoon appears to begin with "We fondly say go ..." followed by the message to Trump. Ron Vodenichar, Eagle publisher and general manager, said in the paper that the paper was alerted about the message by a reader and included a syndicated comic strip.

Madrid— Thousands of Spaniards joined a right-wing rally in Madrid on Sunday to demand that Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez step down. Many in the crowd gathered in the capital’s Plaza de Colon, waving Spanish flags. They chanted slogans in favor of the nation’s security forces and for Sanchez to resign. The conservative opposition Popular Party and the center-right Citizens party organized the rally, which was also backed by the upstart far-right Vox and other marginal far-right parties. They claim that Sanchez must resign for holding talks with separatists in the northeastern region of Catalonia.

Fake Indian Elizabeth Warren made an appearance in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Sunday to kick off her 2020 presidential campaign. Warren immediately attacked the President and suggested that Trump might be in prison by 2020. “Every day there’s a racist tweet, a hateful tweet — something really dark and ugly and what are we as candidates, as activists, as the press gonna do about it?” Warren said. “You know, here’s what bothers me. By the time we get to 2020, Donald Trump may not even be president. In fact, he may not even be a free person,” Warren continued as

Major League Baseball will replace the "disabled list" with the "injured list" for the 2019 season amid concerns that the term "disabled" was insensitive. (Photo) The "disabled list" has been part of professional baseball since the mid-1960s (though there are records of some teams using a "disabled list" as far back as the early 20th century), and it´s become second nature to refer to an injured or exhausted player as "on the DL," but MLB has been reportedly playing around with the idea of renaming the injured roster in order to better reflect the condition of players who skip games

More than 100 U.S. police vehicles lined a one-mile stretch of the Rio Grande River in Eagle Pass, Texas, Saturday afternoon. Sixty sat together in one section of the river on a local golf course. MINNEAPOLIS — Sen. The run-up to Klobuchar’s expected presidential campaign launch on Sunday was sidetracked by former aides, speaking anonymously for fear of retribution, who described a toxic office environment including demeaning emails, thrown office supplies and requests for staff to perform personal chores for the senator. It’s a sharp departure from the public brand that Klobuchar has built to get to this moment:

Last week, no fewer than six committees of the House of Representatives were investigating potential grounds for impeaching Donald Trump as president of the United States. They don’t use the word “impeachment.” Their instructions from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) are to describe their work in narrower, less inflammatory terms. But the question is never far away: Does Trump’s record of norm-busting, rule-bending and apparent law-breaking, from conflicts of interest to murky connections with foreign governments, justify removing him from office? “We have to see what the facts are," Pelosi said recently. "We shouldn´t be impeaching for a political

Acting White House chief-of-staff Mick Mulvaney appears on Fox News to discuss the ongoing political efforts of the resistance movement, Nancy Pelosi’s faux-negotiation strategy, and the larger objective to secure the southern border. In the distant background, President Trump is already building enhanced fencing to secure the U.S-Mexico border and the larger conversation is about the politics of funding. Mulvaney notes the funding for border security can come from a variety of mechanisms available to the President, so the issue of direct funding for a border wall is essentially a political argument where democrats must maintain the optics of resistance.
