It’s the question Democrats can no longer ignore: Who will replace Hillary Clinton? Martin O’Malley? Toast. Joe Biden? A punch line. Elizabeth Warren? Not ready. Bernie Sanders? Seriously? “We don’t have a backup,” one top Massachusetts Democrat lamented. John Kerry, report for duty. Again. This is not the scenario Democrats really want, but may have to accept if the Clinton campaign continues its death spiral over her family foundation’s shady ties to foreign nations. Even Bill Clinton’s been called in for cleanup, but saying you’ve done nothing “knowingly” wrong isn’t helping. Kerry has plenty of weaknesses, but most of them were already exposed in his

Fox News anchor Shepard Smith apologized on-air Monday afternoon after his colleague Mike Tobin erroneously claimed to have witnessed a Baltimore police officer shoot a black man in the street. Shortly after 2:45 p.m. ET, Tobin called into Fox News’ The Real Story and told host Gretchen Carlson that he saw police officers chasing a man, and “as he was running away, that police officer drew his weapon and fired and struck the individual who was running away.” Video showed the allegedly wounded man cuffed and being removed from the scene on a gurney, while an officer stood over a

ll Clinton says he has no regrets about taking millions in foreign cash for his foundation — even though the donations have caused a political headache for Hillary Clinton as she tries to follow him into the Oval Office. In an exclusive interview with NBC News´ Cynthia McFadden, the former president said his charity has never done anything "knowingly inappropriate." Under pressure, the foundation recently announced it will only accept contributions from six Western governments going forward, but Clinton says that´s no acknowledgment the old policy — under which Saudi Arabia gave between $10 million and

Today, Barack Obama re-launched his My Brother’s Keeper initiative as a non-profit foundation, which addresses the opportunity gap for young men of color, and he was acutely aware that the timing could not have been better. (Snip) He then tied that observation — and his initiative — directly into the events of the past year involving black men being killed by police officers: And that sense of unfairness and of powerlessness, of people not hearing their voices, that’s helped fuel some of the protests we’ve seen in places like Baltimore and Ferguson and right here in New York. The catalyst

President Obama on Monday took a shot at the media for its coverage of last week’s violence in Baltimore, saying news outlets too often focus only on looters and rioters rather than on those who are trying to solve the complex problems plaguing America’s cities. In a speech at Lehman College in New York City, the president said lack of economic opportunity for young people of color in inner cities helped fuel the protests that have been seen in Baltimore, Ferguson, Missouri, and elsewhere across the country in recent months. Mr. Obama said it’s vital that the nation turn its attention

NEW YORK— The Prophet Muhammad cartoon contest that exploded in violence over the weekend in Texas was organized by Pamela Geller, a New Yorker who rails against Islam with such ferocity that one of the nation´s top civil rights groups lists her in its "extremist files." WHO IS PAMELA GELLER? Geller, 56, is head of an organization called the American Freedom Defense Initiative. Through websites, books, ad campaigns and public events, Geller has been warning for years that Islam threatens to destroy the U.S. She famously led the campaign in 2010 — under a different group, called Stop the Islamization

Two men who opened fire outside a contest for cartoons depicting the Muslim prophet Muhammad were killed by police Sunday at a Garland ISD events center. The controversial event at the Curtis Culwell Center was wrapping up shortly before 7 p.m. when the two gunmen pulled up in a car and shot an unarmed Garland ISD security officer. Seconds later, Garland police returned fire and killed the two gunmen before anyone else was hurt. The security officer, Bruce Joiner, was treated at a hospital for an ankle wound and released. The bodies of the gunmen remained on the street outside the Culwell Center hours
