Trump’s alt-right trolls have subjected me and my family to an unending torrent of abuse that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I distinctly remember the first time I saw a picture of my then-seven-year-old daughter’s face in a gas chamber. It was the evening of September 17, 2015. I had just posted a short item to the Corner calling out notorious Trump ally Ann Coulter for aping the white-nationalist language and rhetoric of the so-called alt-right. Within minutes, the tweets came flooding in. My youngest daughter is African American, adopted from Ethiopia, and in alt-right circles that’s an unforgivable sin.

Colin Kaepernick wrapped up his second start this season for the San Francisco 49ers, and decided to go with another statement t-shirt at his post-game press conference. Kaepernick sported a Black Panther Party t-shirt. I’ve got a screenshot of his press conference below, and you can view a slightly better shot from Cam Inman below that. Kaepernick’s National Anthem protest continues, with Eric Reid and Eli Harold regularly joining him on one knee. The discussion of it has quieted down to some extent, but he continues getting a chance to discuss social issues after games and during mid-week availability. There

Broad disapproval of Trump has pushed Clinton into a wide lead Hillary Clinton has jumped into a double-digit lead against rival Donald Trump, pushed largely by disapproval of the Republican candidate, according to ABC News’s inaugural 2016 election tracking poll. The Democratic nominee now leads Trump by 12 percentage points among likely voters. Trump’s treatment of women and his refusal to say whether he will accept the results of the election have pushed likely voters away, the poll finds. Likely voters by 69-24 percent said they disapprove of Trump’s response to questions about his treatment of women, following allegations of sexual misconduct by women

Given two terrible choices, a depressing number of voters have responded in the worst way. Yes, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are terrible presidential candidates, but not all of the blame for this thoroughly depressing election year can be placed at their feet. The primaries gave the general electorate two bad, disliked, dishonest, vindictive options . . . and in far too many cases, the general electorate responded appallingly, making a crummy situation worse. Let’s start with the violence. A GOP office was firebombed in North Carolina. A threatening if ultimately non-hazardous white powder was sent to Hillary Clinton’s campaign

The liberal Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren is embracing the phrase “nasty women” to refer to women like her who oppose Donald Trump. Campaigning with Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire on Monday, Warren said: “Get this, Donald: nasty women are tough. Nasty women are smart. And nasty women vote. And on November 8th, we nasty women are going to march our nasty feet to cast our nasty votes to get you out of our lives forever.” During last week’s presidential debate, Trump attacked Clinton as “such a nasty woman” after she launched a personal attack at him. Arnold Schwarzenegger could have been the one battling Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House. The former California governor, 69, said in an interview published Monday that he would have run for president if he could. This year, according to him, would have been an ideal time to launch his campaign. Schwarzenegger, an Austrian native, became a naturalized citizen in 1983. That makes it impossible for him to run for president, in a country where only natural-born citizens - born either in the United States or on foreign soil from at least one US citizen parent - can

In a recent op-ed for TIME magazine, Public Broadcasting Service late-night host Tavis Smiley expressed concern that blacks in America might one day return to slavery if Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump wins the election on November 8. “In my lifetime, I have never seen Congress so blatantly mock our Constitution,” he stated. “It’s especially striking that it comes from the political party that’s always lecturing us about the ´rule of law,´ What’s worse is that they’re getting away with it.” The host of The Travis Smiley Show continued: When I hear Donald Trump suggest that he wants to “Make
