Washington — Tuesday was pretty good for Donald Trump. He swept five states and edged closer to the magic number of 1,237 delegates needed to win the Republican presidential nomination. His winning numbers were impressive, ranging from 54 percent of the GOP primary vote in Maryland to 64 percent in Rhode Island. It sure looks like he’s no longer a plurality candidate winning split fields by less than majority vote. (Snip) TURNOUT. Yes, Trump won big on Tuesday. But he did so with a relatively small GOP turnout. In the six northeastern states that voted during the last eight days,

There will be blood. On Tuesday night, Donald Trump swept the “Acela Corridor” primaries — Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Rhode Island — and made it more likely than ever that he will be the Republican nominee. Next week’s Indiana primary is now truly a must-win contest for Ted Cruz. (It’s never a good sign when an event is being touted as your “Alamo.”) And even if Cruz can keep Trump from winning the nomination outright, taking the nomination from him at a contested convention is now far more difficult. But on Wednesday morning, Trump fans had pitchforks poised. Early

John Boehner is not a big fan of Ted Cruz. So much so, in fact, that the former Republican House Speaker told an audience at Stanford University Wednesday that the Texas senator is "Lucifer in the flesh" and a "miserable son of a b***h." Asked about the 2016 presidential candidate at a forum hosted by Stanford in Government (SIG) and the Stanford Speakers Bureau, Boehner drew laughter for making a face of disgust, according to the Stanford Daily. "Lucifer in the flesh," Boehner said, according to the paper. "I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I

Voters in five states stretching from the mid-Atlantic to the Northeast went to the polls on Tuesday. At the presidential level, Donald Trump crushed his two remaining competitors, while Hillary Clinton took four of the five states in play, extending her delegate lead over Bernie Sanders. I picked some winners and some losers from the night that was. They´re below. Winners • Donald Trump: This was an an absolutely sweeping across-the-board victory for the real estate mogul. From a delegate perspective, this may wind up being Trump´s single best night of the primary process. His massive wins in Connecticut and Maryland help him

Cruz picks Fiorina as running mate

Sen. Ted Cruz tapped former GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina as his running mate Wednesday at an Indianapolis rally where he attempted to undercut front-runner Donald Trump’s momentum the day after he swept contests in five states. Cruz said among the "most solemn choices" a presidential candidate makes is selecting a running mate. He also acknowledged the unusual timing of the announcement and that some might ask — "why now?" While acknowledging the early selection was “unusual,” Cruz said so was this year’s campaign.

Trump´s incoherent speech shows
why he´s unfit to be president

The most remarkable aspect of Donald Trump’s foreign policy speech was that someone actually wrote it out and put it in the teleprompter. It was so filled with internal contradictions, falsehoods and genuinely crazy assertions that one would have thought Trump was speaking extemporaneously. It was a vivid display as to why he is thoroughly unprepared to become commander in chief. If anything comes of it, one hopes that a third candidate, sickened to his stomach, will have watched this, jumped from his seat and declared himself ready to rescue the country from the possibility that Trump might be president.

"[Cruz] has got no path to victory and he´s naming a VP candidate. I guess that´s cute..." @realDonaldTrumphttps://t.co/DfxhobcGlr — FOX & Friends (@foxandfriends) April 27, 2016 Donald Trump early Wednesday bashed speculation that Republican presidential rival Ted Cruz will name former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina as his running mate before several upcoming primaries are undecided. "I think it hurts him. I can´t imagine he does it. First of all, he shouldn´t be naming anybody because he doesn´t even have a chance," Trump said during a phone interview on "Fox and Friends." "He´s millions of votes behind, he´s hundreds of delegates behind ... he´s got
