Just weeks ago, buoyed by favorable polls and a sense of her campaign´s momentum, progressive legal activists dared to embrace the possible: That President Hillary Clinton, presented with at least one and perhaps as many as four Supreme Court vacancies, would smash the three-decade-long conservative majority, pushing the court firmly to the left. Then, President-elect Donald J. Trump happened. The surprise Republican tsunami that swept a celebrity billionaire to power and gave the GOP control of the Senate – along with the Supreme Court nomination process – swamped liberals´ hopes of a high court recalibration in their favor. "Trump´s decisive,

A really really angry Sally Field announced on Chelsea Handler´s Netflix show on Thursday that she joined Twitter in order to understand why people voted for Donald Trump. As you can see in Chelsea´s tweet video below, Field is not only clueless as to why Trump won the election but has no real understanding of how our federal Constitution works. (Video/Tweet) I want to know what other people are thinking. I want to know why they voted for this man who does not stand for anything and has no real evidence. There is no evidence. If you look at his

At least for a moment, President-elect Donald Trump appeared to achieve this week what President Obama struggled to do for most of the past eight years: convince Americans that he can fix the economy. Cheering crowds greeted Trump during his victory lap through the Rust Belt this week following the announcement that the nation’s new negotiator-in-chief had struck a deal with heating and air conditioner manufacturer Carrier to keep a factory in Indiana from moving to Mexico. The agreement affected roughly 1,000 jobs and provided Trump the opportunity to deliver on a powerful campaign promise even before taking office. The

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- A Green Party-backed campaign changed its strategy to force a statewide recount of Pennsylvania’s Nov. 8 presidential election, won by Republican Donald Trump, and said late Saturday night that it will seek help in the federal courts, rather than the state courts. The announcement that it would seek an emergency federal court order on Monday for a recount came hours after it dropped a case in the state courts. “Make no mistake - the Stein campaign will continue to fight for a statewide recount in Pennsylvania,” recount campaign lawyer Jonathan Abady said in a statement issued around 11:30 p.m.

President-elect Trump wasted little time to denounce the latest "Saturday Night Live" cold opening, which featured the return of Alec Baldwin portraying Trump during a national security briefing retweeting random people across the United States. "Just tried watching Saturday Night Live - unwatchable! Totally biased, not funny and the Baldwin impersonation just can´t get any worse. Sad," Trump tweeted early Sunday morning. (Tweet) The tweet elicited a near-immediate response from Baldwin, who tweeted back, "Release your tax returns and I´ll stop." (Tweet) Periodically over several months, Trump has expressed his disapproval of Baldwin´s mainly unflattering portrayal of him, dating back

Maria Ladenburger, the daughter of a high-ranking EU official, was returning from a party in the university city of Freiburg in Germany when she was assaulted on a cycle path. She was raped and then drowned before her body was found in the River Dreisam. The shocking incident happened on October 16 but details have only been released after an arrest on Friday. The suspect, an Afghan migrant, was caught after police found DNA on a scarf near the path. (Snip) The unnamed migrant arrived in Germany last year as an unaccompanied minor and lived with a local family in

Appearing as a panel member on Thursday´s Anderson Cooper 360, during a discussion of Muslim-Americans "self-radicalizing´ and becoming terrorists, liberal CNN political commentator Van Jones at one point blamed Donald Trump for allegedly causing some to "self-radicalize." As conservative CNN political commentator Jack Kingston argued in favor of studies to help answer the question of why "lone wolf" terrorists "became radical," Jones jumped in to inject: "When people say stuff like Trump. Trump kind of helps make people radical, but go ahead." (Video) At 9:28 p.m. after host Anderson Cooper recalled that Trump claimed thousands of radical Muslims have infiltrated
