Every sulfurous belch from the molten interior of the volcanic Trump phenomenon injures the chances of a Republican presidency. After Donald Trump finishes plastering a snarling face on conservatism, any GOP nominee will face a dauntingly steep climb to reach even the paltry numbers that doomed Mitt Romney. It is perhaps quixotic to try to distract Trump´s supporters with facts, which their leader, who is no stickler for dignity, considers beneath him. Still, consider these: The white percentage of the electorate has been shrinking for decades and will be 2 points smaller in 2016 than in 2012. In 2008, Barack Obama became

DUBUQUE, Iowa -- Two minutes into Donald Trump´s news conference here Tuesday night came the question he tried to silence. "Mr. Trump, I have a question," said Jorge Ramos, the top news anchor at Univision one of the country´s most recognizable Mexican-Americans, as he stood up in the front row of journalists. "Excuse me," the Republican presidential front-runner told Ramos. "Sit down. You weren´t called. Sit down." Ramos, holding a piece of paper, calmly tried to ask Trump about his plan to combat illegal immigration. "I´m a reporter, an immigrant, a senior citizen," he said. "I have the right to ask a question."

Speaker of the House John Boehner stunned audience members Wednesday evening at a Colorado fundraiser by referring to Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz as a “jackass,” two people in attendance tell The Daily Caller. At a Steamboat Springs event for GOP Rep. Scott Tipton, the Ohio Republican quipped that he likes how Cruz’s presidential campaign keeps “that jackass” out of Washington, and from telling Boehner how to do his job. That remark rubbed some attendees the wrong way. “I don’t think it’s terribly speaker-like, and I think it kind of goes against everything that Reagan ever said about disparaging Republicans,” said Ed MacArthur,

Last night leading Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump held a press conference in Dubuque, Iowa. (Snip) Today Jeb Bush defended Jorge Ramos and criticized Donald Trump for not putting up with his abusive outburst. NBC News reported: Jeb Bush says that Univision anchor Jorge Ramos, who was escorted out of a press conference held by Donald Trump on Tuesday night, should have been “treated with a little more respect.” “I think people with the press ought to be treated with a little more respect and dignity,” he told reporters. Ramos was removed from the press conference after Trump accused him

The potential first First Gentleman is reportedly “very agitated” by the possibility Vice President Joe Biden may challenge Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination. Politico detailed President Bill Clinton’s frustration with the state of his wife’s campaign in a piece out Wednesday: Clinton’s camp, hands full with the email controversy and a surprisingly stout challenge from independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, isn’t in a patient mood. Bill Clinton, according to a person who has spoken with the former president in the last couple of weeks, is “very agitated” by the possibility of a Biden candidacy and

WASHINGTON - The White House said on Wednesday that the shooting of two television journalists in Virginia is another example of gun violence that is "becoming all too common." White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters that Congress can pass legislation that would have a "tangible impact of reducing gun violence in this country." Earnest said he had not had the chance to speak with President Barack Obama about the shooting, which occurred Wednesday morning. Earnest said the thoughts and prayers of those in the White House are with those killed.

Megyn Kelly Has Got Under Donald Trump’s

What to make of Donald Trump’s litany of tweets against Megyn Kelly upon her return to The Kelly File last night? Either Trump has a schoolboy crush on Kelly or he’s still angry with her for asking him a tough question about his past statements against women at the GOP debate earlier this month. I suspect the latter is more likely and if that is the case then Trump’s skin is even thinner than Obama’s. The last thing this country needs is another thin-skinned Commander in Chief. May I remind people Kelly asked the question almost three weeks ago. Let me put
