Texas senator Ted Cruz is suspending his presidential campaign for the Republican nomination following his loss to Donald Trump in the Indiana Republican primary, a senior Cruz aide tells ABC News.Cruz officially announced his 2016 presidential campaign on Twitter in May 2015, posting a video saying it will require a “new generation” to lead the country. “It’s a time for truth, a time to rise to the challenge, just as Americans have always done," he said in the video. "I believe in America and her people and I believe we can stand up and restore our promise,” the Republican senator

Barack Obama doesn´t believe Donald Trump has what it takes to be the next president - or to defeat a Democratic opponent. The president told WMUR what he really thought about the GOP frontrunner during an interview at the White House on Monday. ´I think that he is not somebody who even within the Republican Party can be considered as equipped to deal with the problems of this office, but look, we live in a democracy,´ Obama said. ´If in fact the Republicans nominate Mr. Trump, then it´s going to be an interesting fall season,´ he added. ´I´m confident that

Skip to 3:00 of the first clip, as that’s when things really start hopping. Actual line: “We are looking, potentially, at the Biff Tannen presidency.” And to think, Cruz fans feared they wouldn’t have anything to feel good about today. I doubt he would have reacted this way if he was looking at a win in Indiana tonight or if Trump hadn’t gone full crank on him this morning but the combination of the two seems to have finally lit the fuse on his frustration. The circumstances are almost identical to the circumstances when Rubio gave his own lengthy indictment of

What happened to Ted Cruz? A month ago, he won the Wisconsin primary in a landslide and was poised to combat Donald Trump with a fresh burst of enthusiasm. Now he´s out of the race and Trump is the presumptive Republican presidential nominee. Things happened in two cycles, some in recent weeks and others that plagued his campaign from the beginning. As Trump said last night, Cruz is tough and smart. But he made big mistakes as a presidential candidate. Cruz thought he could skip primaries in states that looked unpromising. He made a weak effort in New York on April 19

Donald J. Trump won Indiana’s Republican primary on Tuesday, moving him closer to claiming the party’s presidential nomination and delivering a devastating blow to Senator Ted Cruz and other Republicans hoping to stop him. Mr. Cruz had pinned his hopes on Indiana, which seemed to offer one of his best chances to deny Mr. Trump the delegates needed to secure the nomination before the party convention in July. But Mr. Trump, after obliterating his rivals in five states in the Northeast last week, held a strong polling lead in the state, which had 57 delegates up for grabs. His victory put him

Transgender reality TV star and former Olympian athlete Bruce “Caitlyn” Jenner will pose nude with his 1976 gold medal for Sports Illustrated magazine. A source told Us Weekly the 66-year-old I Am Cait star will appear on the cover of an upcoming SI issue wearing “nothing but an American flag and her Olympic medal” to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his historic decathlon victory. Jenner, then a masculine track and field athlete, won the gold medal in the men’s decathlon at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. Jenner was immediately deemed “the world’s greatest athlete,” and was later named the 1976 Associated Press

I want to leave a note here, because I expect to have many occasions to link back to it in the next several months. Americans and Republicans, remember: You asked for this. Given the choice between a dozen solid conservatives and one Clinton-supporting con artist and game-show host, you chose the con artist. You chose him freely. Nobody made you do it. I will be reminding you all of that, from time to time.
