Actions have consequences, as Rep. Ilhan Omar's daughter is finding out after being suspended from Barnard College for participating in the ongoing violent, antisemitic protests at Columbia University.
Lack of action can have consequences, too, and Columbia's refusal to crack down on the protesters and ensure the safety of its Jewish students is now going to cause them to lose out on some serious cash as billionaire Patriots owner Robert Kraft has announced he will no longer support his alma mater. He says the school is "unrecognizable" to him.
Kraft, founder of the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism, made his thoughts clear in a statement Monday:

CBS broke the ice Monday (after a footnote last week then silence) on the rampant anti-Semitism and terrorist sympathizing at Columbia University by pro-Hamas elements of the student body and like-minded fiends, but they went full-blown ‘fiery but mostly peaceful’ as CBS Mornings co-host and Democratic donor Gayle King fretted the “apparently anti-Semitic incidents” overshadowed “peaceful protests”. CBS only spent 49 seconds in an extended news brief delivered by King, which began innocently enough: “Back here in New York, Columbia University has moved all classes on line today as pro-Palestinian demonstrations continue on and near the campus.” King then did her best impression of CNN’s Omar

Rep. John Carter (R-TX) says anti-Israel protesters “vandalized” one of his offices in Texas and vowed to find the “parties responsible.”
Carter posted a photo on X on Monday, showing red paint splattered across his office door with the words “Free Gaza” written in what appeared to be red graffiti on the sidewalk in front of the office. “Unhinged anti-Israel activists vandalized my Georgetown office. Let me make 2 things clear, my support for Israel is unwavering & your intimidation won’t work,” Carter wrote. “Secondly, the parties responsible will be found & will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Fox News legal analyst Jonathan Turley said Monday on Fox News Channel’s “America Reports” that former President Donald Trump’s New York trial for allegedly falsifying business records is an “embarrassment.”
Turley said, “What is clear is in this case, Trump is right this is an embarrassment. The fact that we are actually talking about this case being presented in a New York court room leaves me in utter disbelief.”
He continued, “The arguments today did in fact capture all the problems here. You had this misdemeanor under state law that had run out. This is going back related to the 2016 election. They zapped it back into life by

The NYPD began arresting dozens of student and faculty protestors at New York University Monday night where anti-Israel demonstrators had earlier set up a “Gaza Solidarity” encampment, according to the college’s newspaper.
The cops in riot gear cuffed the protesters – who are demanding NYU divest from holdings tied to Israel over the ongoing violence in Gaza — with zip ties and led them to police buses that had arrived near the campus hours earlier, the university’s student-run newspaper Washington Square News reported. Moments earlier, police blasted a message over a megaphone, ordering the protesters to disperse or face arrest for trespassing, according to the newspaper.

(WASHINGTON) — A majority of Supreme Court justices on Monday appeared sympathetic to an Oregon city making it a crime for anyone without a permanent residence to sleep outside in an effort to crack down on homeless encampments across public properties.
The case, City of Grants Pass v. Johnson, carries enormous stakes nationwide as communities confront a growing tide of unhoused residents and increasingly turn to punitive measures to try to incentivize people to take advantage of social services and other shelter options.
“These generally applicable laws prohibit specific conduct and are essential to public health and safety,” argued the city’s attorney Theane Evangelis during oral arguments, which stretched

Once upon a time, U.S. students were awarded gold stars for achievement; merit was the American way. These days, that celestial system has dimmed -- DEI is lighting the way.
Consider the case of Kristina Raevsky, a 14-year-old from Queens. The eighth-grader has a lot to be proud of: Per the New York Post, she's "published four books" and won trophies for debating. Her attendance record is perfect. And where grade point average is concerned, Kristina's killing it -- she boasts an immaculate 100.
Amid her pursuit of excellence, the youngster has harbored a dream: to go to Flushing's Townsend Harris High School. But in 2024, accomplishment alone won't cut it.

Former President Donald Trump called on his supporters to protest this week, urging them to "rally behind MAGA." On Monday, Trump shared a new post on his Truth Social account where he spoke about ongoing pro-Palestinian protests at different colleges, such as Columbia University, and how his supporters should be protesting his legal battles, like his criminal trial in Manhattan.
"Why are Palestinian protesters, and even rioters, allowed to roam the Cities, scream, shout, sit, block traffic, enter buildings, not get permits, and basically do whatever they want including threatening Supreme Court Justices right in front of their homes, and yet people who truly LOVE our Country, and want to

Columbia University president Minouche Shafik condemned the “intimidating and harassing behavior” that has occurred on the New York City campus over the past several days and announced that classes would be held remotely on Monday.
“Antisemitic language, like any other language that is used to hurt and frighten people, is unacceptable and appropriate action will be taken,” Shafik said in a statement. She further suggested that “tensions have been exploited and amplified by individuals who are not affiliated with Columbia who have come to campus to pursue their own agendas.”
Shafik added that, over the coming days, deans and administrators will convene to resolve the “crisis” on campus

The great Winston Churchill was reputed to have observed, "If a man at twenty is not a liberal, then he has no heart. If a man at forty is not a conservative, then he has no brain." That's an apocryphal statement, of course, but that doesn't mean it's untrue. Younger people tend to skew more politically to the left than their elders - at least, if you look at the broad strokes. But there is also a political pendulum that swings back and forth; as recently as the '80s, there was a trend wherein it was "hip" for young people with hippie-Boomer parents (full disclosure - not

When you talk about the 2024 race, a lot of it is going to come down to the battleground states.
As the Real Clear Politics Average shows, former President Donald Trump is ahead in six of the seven states, with Joe Biden being ahead only in Pennsylvania--and not by much, 46.5 to 46. The only other one that's close is Wisconsin, where Trump is ahead by one point. On average, over all the battleground states, Trump is up by 2.8 percent. In the states other than Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, Trump is up three percentage points or more.

As the dust seems to be settling in the Middle East, who is coming out on top? Perhaps, Reuel Marc Gerecht and Ray Takeyh write in the Wall Street Journal, it is Iran. First, some history:
Iran’s theocratic regime has to stand as the most successful imperial power in the Middle East since the British Empire. The comparison would offend the mullahs, but both managed to patrol large swaths of territory by relying on proxies—imperialism on the cheap. Soon after coming to power in 1979, Iran began putting together its collection of terrorists and militants. In Lebanon, it created Hezbollah, established a tight relationship with the Palestine Liberation Organization
